It’s been a whirlwind in the month and a half I’ve been here, but super grateful to be working with Coach Pope and this team of incredible people.
To give more insight on my role, the analytics is just the foundation for me. Every day I’m talking to agents, building player projection models, running cap models with Nick, managing contracts start to finish, grinding film, and building the systems that power our front office. Blessed to be doing it at Kentucky.
@ryanhammer09 What exactly did he answer? If the goal is transparency, why would you not address the fact of getting flamed and meme’d for a month straight. Got zero actual information about the initials plans for the roster. Fake transparency is worse than being silent by a lot
Is it though? I’d rather him be silent than “act” like everything is hunky dory and he hasn’t been getting flamed on the internet and meme’d for a month straight. If you’re going for “transparency” don’t fake it. This is a nothing burger and honestly just fuels the hate and fire
This was solid.
I believe the center position won’t be all that unbelievable, but I appreciate these answers.
I’m also not quite as hung up on assist percentage as I am on just having elite players, but I like the guards all the same.
Also the recruiting answer wasn’t all that great either.
Regardless this is better than nothing.
I mean your entire show is talking about Kentucky sports is there not a little bias on why you think he should speak so you can have talking points? Lmao, this statement has nothing to do with what’s actually better for Kentucky basketball or pope
Kentucky fans need to realize pope understands with new AD and criticisms from last year that he is on hot seat. Do you REALLY think pope would just “miss” on stokes? We have a lot of money left why would we not just overpay by a million and land him?
I think the smart thing to do as fans is to sit and be patient, if stokes TRULY was the last option we had at improving this roster drastically. Then I believe we would’ve overpayed and truly went all in. Whether it’s Milan or something unknown, I think they have a plan.

That tells me we CHOSE to not overpay and go all in on him. And why would choose to not do that? Because there is another option or plan in place. His coaching reputation is on the hook here, everybody and their brother knows he needs to land another star.
@MattSakR2NG@TJWalkerRadio The Kentucky fan base doom and gloom right now is insane. Zoom Wilkins, clear upgrade in backcourt, year older Kam and Moreno. ousmane an older guy with great traits, Hawthorne has pedigree. It’s laughable these pundits aren’t ranking uk t25. It’s bias from last year
@MeManBoy0@BrandonTweedell Why not just overpay a ridiculous amount for him, I get it’s more complicated than that but I mean. Nobody is going to complain overpaying for a player like that, everyone will critique signing lesser players that might make the team “deeper” make him the highest paid , who cares
@MeManBoy0@BrandonTweedell We sign tounde everything changes, elite backcourt with a talented forward , serviceable bigs. We’re in the mix, pope has to get it done
@MeManBoy0@BrandonTweedell Fair… definitely nobody knows for sure but I mean. Without AT LEAST one of those 4, our chances of winning the title (which should be the goal everyyear) is pretty slim…. I just don’t see how we don’t penny up and overpay for one of them. Especially with donavon looming now
