Please spread around. If you can’t get access we can send. People with pain deserve better than unchecked false promises. Analgesic misdirection hurts individuals and hurts society
@BethDarnall@Chris_Eccleston is right about closing the specialist centres. For pain it rips out the evidence-based heart and opens the way to people with pain being ripped off by snake-oil salespeople selling stuff that is ineffective, expensive, and probably harmful. Times 18, of course.
OK. Children's Pain Research people. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for. https://t.co/jRuiGS0L5R GOSH is starting a new interdisciplinary pain service and we need your help to research it. @KidsInPain@childpainSIG@PICH_pain. Spread the word👏
@MeganGJackson Brilliant article Megan! You really opened my eyes to the distinct differences between depression and apathy. Congratulations on your runner-up award!
Why we need a @CochranePaPaS? Almost all pain systematic reviews are rubbish. All Cochrane reviews in this lot of pain SR were in the moderate and high confidence groups. My examination of PaPaS SR for pain confirms they meet AMSTAR-2, and most critical pain criteria as well.
I loved this review. It did an amazing job of integrating many of the current pain models, resulting in a clear hypothesis of how the transition from acute to chronic pain occurs.

🧵This is a thread about how we explored some divergent clinical trial results around CBT and exercise in chronic pain. This thread discusses our recent paper just published ahead of print in @PAINthejournal. https://t.co/H9g4Exhm4E 1/17
@Natlyt Agreed. Plus the fact that they dismissed that this trend doesn’t apply to the non-white population in one sentence, then continued talking as if politics were the only thing dictating this. Found that particularly unpalatable.
