In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Malkajgiri's Team Swachh has launched its very own swachhata mascot — "4S HERO" — to raise awareness on #4WayWasteSegregation under #SwachhataHiSeva2026 in Telangana

Designed to be simple and engaging, 4S HERO aims to make #4WaysWasteSegregation a natural habit in every household — turning a civic responsibility into a fun, relatable idea for citizens of all ages.

To maximise outreach during festivals, MMC deployed mobile digital display screens at high-footfall locations, promoting the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 — with a focus on 4-stream source segregation.

Ganesh Utsavam | From Devotion to a New Purpose

The immersion may mark the end of the celebration, but the journey of every offering can continue.

Flowers offered to Bappa are being given a new purpose through MMC’s dedicated floral-waste collection at immersion points. The flowers are collected separately, segregated, dried and transformed into incense sticks, dhoops and diyas.

A small request to devotees:
Please place flowers and pooja materials in the Jumbo Bags provided at the immersion points. If you don’t spot one, simply approach the MMC staff - they will guide you.

What is offered with devotion need not end as waste.
Let every flower complete its journey-from prayer to purpose. 🌸♻️

♻️దానవాయిగూడెంలోని FSTPను మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్ శ్రీ అభిషేక్ అగస్త్య, IAS సందర్శించి శుద్ధి ప్రక్రియలను క్షుణ్ణంగా పరిశీలించారు.

♻️"కార్మికుల భద్రతే తొలి ప్రాధాన్యం" అనే సందేశంతో వారికి PPE కిట్లు, రూ.5 లక్షల ప్రమాద బీమా కార్డ���లను అందజేసి, విధుల్లో తప్పనిసరిగా భద్రతా ప్రమాణాలు పాటించాలని సూచించారు.

♻️రోజుకు సుమారు 70 KLD మలిన వ్యర్థాలను అదే రోజు సమర్థవంతంగా శుద్ధి చేసే విధంగా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని, నగరంలోని అన్ని సెప్టిక్ ట్యాంకుల వ్యర్థాలు తప్పనిసరిగా FSTPకు చేరేలా సమగ్ర వ్యవస్థను అమలు చేయాలని అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు.

As part of the Catch the Rain Campaign, a Jal Samvad event was conducted at Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) to promote water conservation and groundwater recharge. The event provided a platform to engage with officials and community members on the importance of sustainable water management practices. Discussions were also held on the progress of the Shallow Aquifer Management (SAM 2.0) Project in the city, including the development of rainwater recharge structures and ongoing efforts to enhance groundwater recharge in line with national guidelines.
Participants were encouraged to adopt rainwater harvesting practices and contribute to local water conservation efforts. The event concluded with the Water Conservation Pledge, reaffirming the collective commitment of stakeholders and citizens towards safeguarding water resources and strengthening groundwater security in the city.
