I founded the @C4JDHowardU at @HowardU for this moment. This is why I’ve called on the profession to discard neutrality and explicitly engage in pro-democracy journalism. Earlier this month, we hosted experts on oligarchy on campus at our Democracy Summit to help equip journalists to cover the way billionaires are eroding democracy. We are witnessing this in real time.
Rule number one: Do not obey in advance. Rule number two: Democracy requires a free press, but a free press also REQUIRES democracy.

The work is to become emotionally free. Not to try to change any member of your family, but instead to accept that you are the only person you can change. That you do have the power to not only influence your life, but to change it for the better.
when i ask “how are you” that’s actually shorthand for “how are you still waking up every day and going about your daily life when it feels like society is disintegrating like a nature valley bar”
