@onparrmike @WheatPete Unless they plan on harvesting the covercrop, grazing sheep on it is the perfect scenario. Sheep are light & don’t cause soil compaction, they excrete 80% of the nutrients they eat back out as manure/urine, and those nutrients now become more bioavailable for next seasons crops
Has anyone else in SW Ontario noticed a huge increase in grasshoppers lately? Seems every step I take in the pasture stirs up dozens and dozens of them. Definitely more than I’ve ever seen before #ontag#ag365#ontariosheep
@MikeSwidersky We had a fast downpour that left 1/4”, but when I went to Stratford a half hour later they were getting hammered with rain, lots of washed out roads and fields in that area
