@pianopatriot1@sandiechill@PiperK Well, his personal wealth has increased by over $64B within weeks of the election, so it's pretty clear it was an investment in the politician(s) that won't regulate his businesses as harshly.
@beraddeluca@sandiechill@PiperK I can assure you that being anti-Trump doesn't mean that a person can't also be upset that Biden pardoned his son. It's possible to be upset about nepotism and corruption from both parties, you know. Don't forget: Red vs Blue is an illusion made by the rich to keep us distracted.
@Raddittyy @TheRocketRalph The LGBTQ community does NOT accept pedophiles as their own. Pedophiles are the ones that keep calling themselves "MAPs" because they're trying to convince people that it's a sexuality and that they belong in LGBTQ. But they do not. LGBTQ doesn't hurt people, pedophilia does.
@NickLouisright@dtst4t@HighPlainsFella@allenanalysis Sure, but destroying something makes it HARDER to fix and the government is infamous for being slow about enacting new policies and trying to sneak their own agendas in, even if they're completely unrelated. We should be amending imperfect systems, not burning them down.
@jbcullens@HighPlainsFella@allenanalysis Insurance is just socialism that you opt into. Money is collected from lots of people (like taxes) and then that pool is (supposed to be) pulled from to pay for medical expenses. The problem is that smaller pools require a bigger pay-in and these companies try to avoid paying out
@I3lackDullahan@Taylor12Cj@BornAgainMissy Eh, nothing wrong with the theism there. The existence of a god/creator is unprovable and unfalsifiable. As long as someone's beliefs don't contradict provable facts or hurt people, there's no issue. Nothing wrong with believing that a god set things in motion.
@EaglePhan51@allenanalysis Even IF that's true, the solution isn't to repeal the thing that's doing some good; the solution is to FIX the things it does poorly.
@hiraveil@fellawhomstdve "washed up"?? Since when has Mark Hamill been "washed up"?! Man's been a voice acting LEGEND for far longer than he's spent regularly being a live action actor, and that isn't likely going to change regardless of Disney's idiotic mishandling of Star Wars.
@realJesseS123@MistrexCheshire@floridaman2002@JerasIkehorn An overzealous school board shouldn't be used to judge all Democrats/liberals. He shouldn't have been fired for it, as it wasn't mandatory, but he should've kept it private, as allowing students to join could pressure others into doing so. Unprofessional, but not unconstitutional
@floridaman2002@jr_ednie@JerasIkehorn While many of the Founding Fathers were from various Christian denominations, several were Deist. But many Christians can't even agree on which version of the Bible is "the right one", let alone denomination, and call each other cults, so I guess that doesn't really matter. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
@XxLeafCatxX@doofinc_@PopBase Well, yes, term limits would be ideal. In fact, we WANT term limits on every position. But the egotists in power will never allow that and the psychos who are taking power now are the ones who want to abolish Presidential term limits. And elections. Yay America ๐ซ
@lifeat24frames @lauraruns131 @DoctorRobin@PamKeithFL You realize that would actually be worse, right? I'm going to oversimplify, but ideally, you'd wanna >50% of people in each state to be liberal voters to all electoral votes. Having fewer states be 100% liberal results in less overall votes, despite people being more comfortable.
@StarfishPrime12@IrishMarine94@johnpavlovitz I have been. Though most of the questioning I've seen has been from 2020 election deniers. People are so fixated on "sides" that they don't realize the only sides are "rich" vs "poor". They've been successfully making us fight each other for decades so we don't fight them instead
@StarfishPrime12@IrishMarine94@johnpavlovitz Voter disillusionment is very real. When people don't feel like their vote matters, they won't bother voting. And Democrats simultaneously disliked their candidate and were overconfident that Trump couldn't possibly win (again, just like against Clinton), so they didn't bother.
@StarfishPrime12@IrishMarine94@johnpavlovitz No, I'm saying the graph is shortened so that 80m looks like 2x 60m. Distorted graphs like these exist because people make snap judgements based on surface level appearances. In this case, the goal is to further the narrative that Democrats cheated last election, true or not.
@IrishMarine94@AllieWag@johnpavlovitz There's a lot to be said for voter disillusionment due to 1) the electoral college, 2) both candidates sucking ass, and 3) targeted social media algorithms promoting a sense of "why bother, because of 1 and 2?".
