As we all process last week’s events, I’ve found I’ve been seeking comfort and solace in some of my favorite picture books. Here are some titles that have made me smile, and have given me some hope. Thought I’d share in case it might help someone else too.

A4: Since I’m still a student myself, I haven’t had the chance to transition yet from virtual to a hybrid model, but I can imagine that it takes lots of patience, support from colleagues, and self compassion to work through the challenges it presents. #ECTEACHES

A2: I have not had the experience of working with an ELL one on one yet in the classroom, but I’m tutoring a third grader this semester on zoom who is dual language (Arabic) and it has been a challenge at times.. we have relied a lot on translate technology! #ECTEACHES

Wow. Shocked, aware, and hopeful for the future are just some of the emotions I have after watching “Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools”. 10/10 recommend the film to anyone looking to educate themselves on the injustices within the school system. @FilmPushout

I had such a great time this morning working with my first grade friends on a Google Expedition about caves! Thanks to @mrschmil and @ReenyMorell for their support with this!

Students in @ReenyMorell went on a Google Expedition and explored a Slovakian cave with the amazing @CeliaMartone. They were able to identify stalactites, take a screenshot of them, and then upload them to Seesaw to label and show their parents. #WSDTechWarriors
