‘Fire effects on the persistence of soil organic matter and long-term carbon storage’: https://t.co/Xmcm1v7geV. Wanted to read this paper before commenting on it. It’s a really good review but contains nothing on blanket bogs. Here’s what it says about ‘peatlands’: 1/4

@truenaturefound @edsheeran@edsheeran Sounds interesting. I'm sure you're getting plenty of good advice but do have a read of our 10 principles of rewilding here:

or

Farmers
Foresters
Gamekeepers
Ghillies
Posh people
Scientists
Rewilders
All have something to contribute to finding a sustainable future for Scotland's uplands.
Ditch the stereotypes
Talk to the enemy. They are not the problem. Conflict is the problem.
I’m concerned about the misinformation about Oostvaardersplassen - the dead animals were intentionally culled and left as carrion (natural processes) as part of the “Serangeti rules” experiment (also ring fence by humankind). Rewilding projects cull animals too but off-site.
