In 1926 there were 2,051 medical doctors, 491 midwives, 5,341 sick nurses & 536 dentists. There were 382 chartered accountants recorded in 1926.
Other employments recorded were horse vehicle drivers (10,852), saddlers (1,441), and grooms (1,399)

There were 211 chimney sweepers (only one was female), and just over 1,000 coopers (cask and barrel makers).
Teachers, doctors, and clergy accounted for 4% of workers in 1926 but this had grown to 10% by 2022.

1926 records show almost 91,000 people were employed in domestic service. Around 87,500 were women and 3,000 men were employed as domestic servants.
Ireland was mainly an agrarian society, with 51% of those in employment working on the land compared with just 4% in 2022.
