Proud to be endorsed by Abundant Housing Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to ensuring every resident has access to safe, affordable, and abundant housing.
Together, we’re building a Worcester where everyone has a place to call home. 🏡💜
Great to be with @CentralMassYD at El Basha in Worcester recently. I am deeply impressed by this talented group’s work ethic and vision for the party. Looking forward to the next event and continued collaboration in the region!
I’m demanding immediate answers from ICE about the arrest of a Milford High School student yesterday, where he is and how his due process is being protected.
The Trump Administration continues to create fear in our communities, and it’s making us all less safe.
What happened in Worcester on May 8th demands answers. As a member of the Human Rights Commission, I’m using every tool available to understand how this happened and why. Our community deserves transparency. We deserve accountability. We deserve better.
I'd like to reshare statements from Mayor Petty and other city officials about the May 8 incident with ICE in Worcester.
There is a clear pattern by the Trump admin: not to keep people safe, but to demonstrate arbitrary power without due process. - James

Mayor Joseph M. Petty issued a statement today regarding the incident involving ICE:
I am disturbed to hear about today’s events involving ICE. As someone who prides themselves on leading a welcoming city, I am devastated to hear about the separation of a family, especially with Mother’s Day around the corner. The fear of ICE tearing a family apart is the worst nightmare of so many in our city. I have asked the City Manager for a full report of the incident. We were not notified by ICE about the detainment. Simply put, we cannot have this happen in our community.
We echo @MassDems Chair @stevekerrigan calling on the Worcester City Council and City Manager to reject this measure, and for the @massgop to condemn this blatant exclusionary attack on our Commonwealth's values.

"The Massachusetts Democratic Party strongly condemns the recent proposal by the Worcester Republican City Committee (WRCC) to revise local election requirements intending to impose unnecessary and discriminatory barriers on naturalized citizens seeking local office. 🧵
We strongly condemn this cruel, attention-seeking, anti-American attempt by the Worcester Republican City Committee to discriminate against naturalized citizens.
Make no mistake: This is Donald Trump's crusade against our friends, neighbors, and fellow Americans.
When Republicans say they want to nullify the 14th Amendment, believe them. When they say they want to deport 6% of the US population, believe them.

Thank you so much to everyone who made it out last night, and to the incredible elected officials and candidates who joined us!
There was a sign in the restaurant that said "30 miles to Boston." We think Boston needs a sign that says "30 miles to Central Mass!"
Thank you to everyone who came out last night to our Launch at The Neighborhood Tavern! We had an incredible time chatting, eating, and hearing from our incredible guest - and candidate for State Representative - @KateDonaghue!
