It can be hard to tell yourself you can not do more and to put limits on yourself. What is the alternative though? To be exhausted all the time and not do your best work or never stop to plan? Evaluate your time to see if you are working and producing at your optimal levels.
We can go through life & never reevaluate what we are focused on or what our priorities are. We can go years doing the same thing and not even realize it. It will be different for everyone, but refocus & look at where you are spending your time & adjust for what is important now
There can be a false sense of security in getting your to do list done to 0 or finishing/organizing something to mark it off and be done. The problem is that work is never done & in some cases when you finish more tasks, you will actually think of more to do. That is okay! #GTD
Instead of buying a brand new #iPhone11#iPad#Android11#computer you have the power to make your current device new by factory resetting it. Not only will this improve performance, but it makes it feel new again & forces you see what is important & back up your information
@InvestorsTheory @DistillMike Healthcare costs and housing would be the most obvious examples of this. It’s not the coffee or little things holding you back!
When getting out of #debt or saving for a long time #goal, when talking with others, make sure you don't come off as complaining. What you really are doing is sacrificing. To the person not in your shoes and maybe not aware of your goals, that point needs to be made clear.
When you are trying to change a #habit, not only will you face resistance, but the anxiety & stress of going away from something that you know & trust is like breaking an addiction. Even for something simple that you wouldn't normally think of as having addictive qualities.
When you have something that stays on your to do list, there are 3 possible reasons for this.
1. No clear defined next actions.
2. Procrastination which can be tied back to point #1.
3. It might not be important to do anymore or a priority. Delete it or store as reference. #gtd
Money is a power tool.
A chainsaw is a power tool.
Respect money as you respect a chainsaw.
With both you can build great things, but both can kill you too.
@Dead_Debt Yes this is more money Twitter and not standard Twitter, but these are encouraging, thoughtful responses which is nice because for the most part in media all you hear about is how terrible money is and how awful the rich are. More money just amplifies your morals and character.
@ramblereviewmom Not exactly the same thing happened to us, but the 2nd job we were doing when we were paying off debt we stopped ourselves because it got to be too much. Yes it took a little bit longer to get out of debt, but it was the better thing for our family. You got this!
@mathew@alicegoldfuss This is one of the top concepts of #gtd. Especially with knowledge work and more people working from home, if there is no "shutoff" mentally like writing down everything that is unresolved and still on your mind, you will continually be thinking about those tasks.
@patrickbyers 100% agree! What you are working on and moving closer towards your big goals is much more important than checking email and being the first to respond. The thing with productivity is what looks productive may not actually be productive.
@SteveOnSpeed Essentialism/minimalism
Reading or YouTube (although that can backfire)
Common sense or some basic math/a budget
God/reading/listening to other view points
These are just our two cents.
Don't think media can influence you both good or bad? https://t.co/gMb6WV1T8Q @Interstellar is a movie that will teach you about time in a good way. Media such as movies/books/TV should make you think while delivering a compelling story. This movie does that & we recommend it!
@JDRostagno Well you got a ton of responses, but we look it at like this. There are 365 days in a year. You are going to have some really bad days or days when you don't feel good. The key is to keep those days to a minimum and look at the bigger picture. Remember it's just 1 day.
