@AnnemiekeMilks @ArchWoodworking Ah cheers!! I am still pinching myself... Congrats to you for a very cool news & views piece! Frames things nicely 😀
@CerenArkbotani Check out the original paper, FREE for the @ArchaeologyUK#FestivalOfArchaeology:

@ShevanWilkin For sure looks like a vessel from dicotyledonous wood. I am not sure if ID will be possible, but here is a Vessel Element Atlas from IAWA: https://t.co/bI4fG99846
Good luck!

@rix_harriet@LRB Hello! Interesting piece. I like the description of the traditional practices and the tastes of acorns. Can you specify though what the evidence is for coppicing/woodland management by Neanderthals, and later by Homo sapiens at Shanidar Cave?
@BoixRichter Thank you for tweeting about the article 🤓 Great to be featured alongside all this recent, exciting evidence on cooking/food prep! For a shorter read (and I might have a very plant-focused perspective here...), see also (sorry, in English...): https://t.co/InHIhV2fiT
@Jamie_Woodward_ I should also point out, the research/article is much more than the single fragment from the Mousterian occupation layer (Neanderthal) from Shanidar.
@Jamie_Woodward_ Well, a lot of this is slightly second -hand. I like that it sparked interest and people wanted to try to cook something similar.
