The same people keep recycling the same playbook- deny, deflect, and twist the facts. Instead of owning up to their own actions, they rewrite the story to paint themselves as innocent while dumping all the blame on the Kukis. They conveniently ignore how the violence began and only start telling the story when it suits their narrative. Then, when there is retaliation, they suddenly cry foul and demand sympathy. Selective outrage and historical revisionism don’t erase accountability, they only expose hypocrisy.

A video, reportedly recorded by the perpetrators themselves, has gone viral on social media. In the video, two men, believed to be Pangal or Nepali traders attempting to transport essential supplies, are seen being surrounded, physically assaulted, and verbally abused by individuals allegedly identified as Kacha Naga vigilantes at an illegal checkpoint.

The nature of the abuse appears brazen and overt, not subtle.

One statement in the video encapsulates the gravity of the situation in Kangpokpi at present:
"Will you guys do it again — transport goods? Who should we kill, if not people like you?"

These words were allegedly spoken openly on camera while civilians, whose only alleged offence was attempting to deliver supplies to a district facing shortages, were being physically assaulted.

As of now, the individuals at that checkpoint continue to remain there. No arrests have been reported. No summons have been issued. No accountability has been established.

Immediate action is demanded against Tangkhul NSCN-IM and their alleged associates ZUF-Kamson, UNC, TNL, FNCC, SDSA, NPO, and all their elected MLAs and Ministers for supporting and sponsoring this allegedly torturing, threatening, and ridiculing innocent, unarmed Pangal, Nepali, and Kuki-Zo communities.

Justice Delayed in Kangpokpi

A viral video has exposed the brutal reality of Kangpokpi's unfolding crisis. Two men believed to be Pangal or Nepali traders are surrounded, beaten, and verbally humiliated at an illegal Kacha Naga checkpoint. Their only offense? Attempting to transport essential supplies to a district starving under blockade.

The abuse is unflinching. It is captured on camera, in broad daylight, by the perpetrators themselves. There is no shame. No hesitation.

Then comes the line that lays bare the moral rot of this conflict: "Will you guys do it again? Who should we kill, if not people like you?"

These words are spoken while hands strike defenseless civilians. These men are not soldiers. They are not combatants. They are traders fathers, sons, providers risking their lives so others may eat.

Today, that checkpoint still stands. The vigilantes remain unchallenged. Nobody has been arrested. Nobody has been summoned. Nobody has been held accountable. The state has offered only silence.

This is not justice. This is abandonment.

When we refuse to act, we become complicit. When we look away, we sanction the violence. How many more must be beaten? How many more must be threatened with death for the simple act of feeding the hungry?

Kangpokpi is watching. The world should be too. And those who committed this crime must face the law before more blood stains these roads.
