I’m so sick of basketball media when it comes to the Lakers because it’s always a damn if you do, damn if you don’t situation.
I genuinely can’t remember a season since maybe 2009 where the consensus was just, “Yeah, the Lakers are gonna be really good.” And they’ve had plenty of damn good teams since then.
Every year it’s the same cycle: if they stand pat, they didn’t do enough. If they make moves, they somehow lowered their ceiling. The goalposts never stop moving. Shit is insane.
Anyone telling you their serious people and want to convince you that pick swaps and late first round picks for kids currently in elementary school is bad for the win now Lakers don’t invite them to thanksgiving.
You don’t need that level of stupidity around you
Lakers fans are being just a tad bit ridiculous. Remember when Lebron missed all that time to start the season and Luka and Reaves were hanging 70 a night on everyone while winning 70% of their games? Yeah, that's the baseline we are starting with.
"It's not about clinging to the past. It's about spending money and looking through the windshield, not the rearview mirror... The standard has changed."
@colincowherd argues acquiring Walker Kessler signals a new era for the Lakers
BREAKING: The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 and first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030, sources tell ESPN. Kessler will sign a massive four-year, $130 million deal with the Lakers.
The Eagles are trading Pro-Bowl WR A.J. Brown to the Patriots for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick that is the better of New England’s two fifths.
