@DOC323123 I keep coming back to the fact that Luka and Reaves have a 71% win percentage when they play together and lakers are a .500 team when they don’t. Something clearly works with those two and you’ve got to build around them.
@DamienPetersNBA 71% win % with him. 50% win % without him. They’ll be fine keeping him because their best lineups last year was him and Luka playing together.
@LALMuse@RyanWardLA I think the Lakers lack of movement and relocation shooters is a huge deal. I’m surprised it’s not talked about more. They have no one but stationary shooters and that’s just not enough.
Gonna be real with you guys, the Platner stuff being everywhere while America votes to combine the US and Israeli militaries feels a little off. We shouldn’t care this much about Maine (sorry Maine, great state) when THAT is happening.
@Yinoma2001 Lakers had a 71% win percentage with him and a 50% win percentage without him. Losing him for Ayo sets the franchise back a ton and probably starts the wheels on Luka leaving.
The Lakers had a 71% win percentage in games Austin Reaves played this year. They had a 50% win percentage in games he didn’t play. Difference of a 3 seed and out of the playoffs. Don’t know why Lakers fans don’t want to pay someone who affects you THAT much.
@soft_animal@Obolatcan24 They did not play great without them lol. It was one of their worst playoff offensive outputs and Lebron and Smart couldn’t stop turning the ball over. Luckily, Houston didn’t have KD nor anyone who could dribble at all.
@marilikessports I’m gonna see if I can find it but there’s an article from around that trade time that specifically said Dumont was convinced by Mavs front office that the fanbase wouldn’t be that upset and at the game where he was relentlessly bood he couldn’t understand why.
The Lakers have almost no good center or wing options that doesn't include trading all your assets so I think they are probably gonna load up on shooters and just ask Luka to throw 15 assists a game next year.
@meera1577 Pretty much my whole thing. Even if you believe they can't win, you gotta sign him to a high salary to even begin to trade for a star, btw who are all making $60 million now.
@marilikessports Long story short : Mavs media and podcasters figured out they could generate clicks with negative Luka press. Stuff like Tatum > Luka from Mavs media opened a floodgate of clicks and engagement from big markets. Front office believed it was real. Traded Luka thinking fans agreed.
