"Laws are passed here take away our rights and benefit a very small, wealthy sector."
More than a quarter of Puerto Rico's population is living without reliable water access right now. The government blames a severe drought and has rolled out rationing, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without a drop to drink for days at a time on a rotating schedule.
But residents say golf courses are still being watered without interruption, and Puerto Rico's government just approved a $2 billion luxury development — complete with two more courses and hundreds of private residences.

my first book taming the revolution: white power and the fear of black freedom will be out with @PlutoPress this fall is currently available for pre-order
excited to receive a couple endorsements from thinkers whose scholarship were indispensable to this book!

Since FDR liberals (AOC/Bernie & co) are pushing red scare propaganda while supposedly being very concerned w/ Trump's "McCarthyism," ppl should educate themselves on the history of this

Documentary rec:
Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat (2024)
Highlights how Black American jazz artists were used in🇺🇸's Cold War agenda. It focuses on the coup & assassination of Lumumba in the Congo with snippets on how it's connected to DRC today

ok currently watching Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat on kanopy & it's already so good! The opening minutes before the title even pops up are insane. Ik others have said it but this documentary really should be studied in terms of production bc the way it's edited is amazing
the whole “woke 1" is deeply cynical, if not a racist way to white washed what was and still is a violent period 2014-2020. Mind u, this was the Genesis of the surveillance state that we lived today. Unless peole think the lack of state accountability and impunity in the police killing of blk people have nothing to do as to why Ice can do whatever it wants. There’s something profoundly ironic about parts of the Jacobin-adjacent left constantly decrying “identity politics, woke 1.” Yes, identity politics can be cynically deployed and emptied of any material content, but it also emerged in response to real forms of institutional racism and material inequalities that continue to affect Black people. Yet some of the same people who dismiss those concerns as identitarian distractions seem perfectly comfortable moralizing and concern-trolling about antisemitism as though its existence and political significance can simply be asserted in the abstract, without the same demand for institutional or material analysis
We can so clearly see where this is going which is why it’s a “no” for me.
I’m siding with the communists, the anarchists, the actual socialists.
I will not allow DSA political figures to put themselves forward as representing some genuine insurgency from the left
"demsocs" aka liberals have done irreparable damage to ppls understanding of socialism. Thx to them ppl are writing viral book reviews on goodreads saying the exact ahistorical ignorant bs AOC is in this. But no we're just "haters" & this is totally a good thing for us communists
AOC, Abdul, Zohran all following the Dem party line of denouncing socialist countries while clutching their pearls when Trump attacks them🇨🇺🇻🇪
86k likes on a tweet incorrectly claiming FDR & the New Deal was socialist
so much "winning" I can't stand it
zionist liberal Bernie giving anti-communist interviews where he pretends Trump is like ussr/communists
El Sayed denouncing socialism & calling himself a "capitalist" (bc defenders of this sys refuse to learn the definition of wtf a capitalist is)
But God forbid ACTUAL socialists/communists criticize her. No no we're just being "purists" who hate winning
I don't think FDR liberals rebranding liberalism as "socialism" & pushing anti-communist lies while the 🇺🇸govt is attacking communist orgs is what I'd call "winning"
'embracing and normalizing with the genocidaires of palestinians is actually good for palestinians, you just hate power' - so many of you for the last two years
Hate playing assassin's creed & seeing plague victims like damn if I can interact with gods can they at least give me future knowledge so I can invent antibiotics
Music industry has always been really gross about this stuff among other things. It never went through mass unionization the way Hollywood did so artists in the music industry continue to struggle in a way that actors don't as much
me in middle school singing things like:
"I'm in love with a stripper"
"shake that laffy taffy"
"to the window, to the wall, til sweat drop down my balls"
"my goodies"
I still love the music I was listening to back in the day but some of my favs are kinda crazy when I think about it like why was one of my fav songs in middle school about T-Pain being in love w/ a stripper lol
going down the rabbit hole of all the music I loved when I was a tween like Mariah's We Belong Together, Don Omar & Jojo too
this song is still so good although it's another ex of artists not owning rights to their own work & getting screwed by their label
