The biggest problem with DCU is that it feels like MCU 2.0 - the audience that likes that type of movie has loyalty to the MCU
Snyder understood that the only way to make DCEU stand out is if they have their own identity.
Except it did, Iron Man was just okay. There wasn't a movie like it before. It was then followed by The Incredible Hulk. Out of the ~35 MCU movies only 4 or 5 are good.
If the MCU started with 2 movies as dog shit as Superman and Supergirl there would be no MCU.
And the irony is there would be no James Gunn making Superhero movies and in turn there would be no DCU.
