Ambassador (Retired), views and endorsements are, of course, my own

[Leena-Kaisa Mikkola @FINambUS]

It’s always a pleasure to talk with @SenSanders. This week we took the conversation to a livestream. Tune in to hear more about the Finnish model—and the story behind why Finnish babies sleep outdoors, even in winter.

[Sen. Bernie Sanders @SenSanders]

Finland is ranked the happiest country in the world. What lessons could other countries — including the United States — learn from them? https://t.co/IYq6HtikJf

President Trump 🇺🇸 has now announced that he has solved the conflict between 🇦🇿 and 🇦🇱. That’s news in several respects

@AnnalenaLauren Fint att du delar med dig!
Jag läste både Okänd soldat och Torpartrilogin som tonåring, för ett halvt sekel sedan.
De formade min världsbild i hög grad. Stor, human litteratur!
Läste dem på originalspråket för att öva upp finskan.

[Christer Michelsson @ChMichelsson]

@AnnalenaLauren Lysande!

[Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський @ZelenskyyUa]

Over the past few days, there have been more than thirty conversations and consultations with partners. Different parts of the world, different perspectives, but shared positions.

This war must be ended. Pressure must be exerted on Russia for the sake of a just peace. Ukraine’s and our partners’ experience must be used to prevent deception by Russia.

At present, there is no sign that the Russians are preparing to end the war. Our coordinated efforts and joint actions – of Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and all countries that seek peace – can definitely compel Russia to make peace. I thank everyone who is helping.

Great column by @edwardlucas - and not just because he likes my book. https://t.co/deTY4cKmKt

“The appeasement of dictators never brings peace. It always leads to more aggression, more suffering, more wars, because dictators do not see compromise as an invitation to compromise back. They see it as a sign of weakness.”

Väl formulerade tankat, vilket ju inte överraskar/hyvin muotoiltuja ajatuksia, mikä ei hämmästytä lainkaan!

"Ruotsin kielen vahva asema saattaa jarruttaa Paraisten elinvoiman kasvua."
Paraisilla syntyneenä pidän masentavana, että Hesari julkaisee tällaisia oudon sävyn reportaaseja. On siis ongelma, että Paraisilla puhuu ruotsia. ->

Disappointed by the decision of the Georgian government to halt their EU process - against the people’s will. We still see the Georgian people’s future in a free and democratic society. Strongly condemn any violent action against peaceful protesters. Georgia is Europe.

[Steve Rosenberg @BBCSteveR]

Today’s Russian papers reflect 2 very different Russias. One Russia: the military superpower threatening Ukraine & the West with Oreshnik missiles. The other Russia – where butter, increasingly expensive, is now sold in some shops in “anti-theft protective boxes.” #ReadingRussia

[Li Andersson @liandersson]

Tulevana talvena energiahuollon toimivuus on keskeistä ihmisten pärjäämiseksi. Myös asumistilanne on vaikea. Miljoonia maan sisäisiä pakolaisia, mutta ei ollenkaan sosiaalista asuntotuotantoa. Pohjoismailla ja Suomella on tärkeä tukemisen paikka. 5/
