Yeah baaaaack in the day I used to say r slur, didn't know the discomfort around it at the time
Tennis is so lucky to have a sportsman and ambassador like him who leaves his heart out on the court, exits with a smile, doesn’t make excuses, congratulates his opponent, and understands the bigger picture so soon after a tough loss. So great to have Alcaraz back after 5 months.
Alcaraz.
"My schedule in the future will depend of how I feel physically and mentally. Tennis is unpredictable because your week can have 7 matches or just one. I want my career to last. 10 or 15 years. So I have to take care of my body and mental health."
Carlos Alcaraz was in shocked and confused when Andy Roddick asked him about a potential Ben Shelton or Stefanos Tsitsipas matchup .
Bro thought he was facing Tiafoe or Medvedev 😭😭😭
movie did such horrible job in portraying this fight. in books, dumbledore entered casually & tied most death eaters, nailed lestrange to the ground, made statues protecting harry & dominated voldy entire fight & also calls him tom😭. it shows why he's the greatest wizard ever.
I think the films made Hermione look more universally intelligent than she actually was in the books, partly because they kept her academic brilliance but stripped away a lot of the situations where Ron’s different kind of intelligence mattered. Ron was never meant to compete with Hermione at academics; his strengths were instinct, strategy, magical-world knowledge and reading situations. He is the one who masters the giant chessboard in Philosopher’s Stone, recognizes the significance of the Basilisk and later reproduces Parseltongue to open the Chamber in Deathly Hallows. He also recognizes The Tales of Beedle the Bard immediately because he grew up with wizarding culture, while Hermione has never even heard of it. The official Wizarding World material itself describes Ron as having a “strategic mind” and specifically highlights his chess ability and Parseltongue moment.
The bigger problem is that the films gave some of Ron’s book moments to Hermione, while also removing scenes that showed Ron thinking independently. The clearest example is Prisoner of Azkaban: in the book, an injured Ron still puts himself between Harry and Sirius and says Sirius will have to kill all three of them; the film gives that moment to Hermione. Deathly Hallows does the same kind of thing when Hermione takes Harry’s idea for releasing the Gringotts dragon. So the movie trio gradually became “Harry = bravery, Hermione = intelligence, Ron = comic relief,” whereas the books were more balanced: Hermione had the strongest academic mind, Ron had exceptional tactical and practical intelligence, and Harry had the instinctive ability to make decisions under pressure. That difference is a huge reason book Ron feels substantially more capable than movie Ron.
the funny part is the books actually answer this Harry knew Ron’s family was poor, but he also understood that simply handing Ron money could make things worse..in Goblet of Fire, when Ron gets those ancient second hand dress robes, Harry literally thinks he would “willingly have split all the money in his Gringotts vault with the Weasleys,” but knew they would never take it. Ron’s insecurity about Harry’s wealth was already a real issue, the books repeatedly show Ron feeling uncomfortable about being the poor friend while Harry has inherited a fortune.
and Harry actually does find a workaround, after winning 1,000 Galleons in the Triwizard Tournament,he gives the entire prize to Fred and George to start their joke shop, with one specific condition: “buy Ron some different dress robes and say they’re from you.”
so Harry absolutely noticed Ron was struggling he just knew Ron’s pride would make a direct handout humiliating, that’s one of those details the movies underplay..Harry wasn’t oblivious to Ron’s poverty,he was trying to help without making Ron feel like a charity case.
Rohit Sharma, and no I am not at all budging on that, and no I am not GenG. I was an absolute cricket nut until 2013 both watching and knowledge wise, and only watched Rohit, Starc stuff after that mostly live
@Synapse_Med Le tennis est différent des autres sports là dessus, la concentration est primordiale.
Je sais pas si tu joues, mais c’est vraiment rares ceux qui ne sont pas dérangés par le bruit.
