Wasn't the night Shampa's too?
It was meant to be a night for women, when they reclaimed the streets demanding safety at the workplace, in memory of a young woman who fell victim to a horrifying tragedy at her own workplace...(1/4)
It is hard to conceive of a more bestial, heinous crime than the murder and rape of a young woman that took place in Kolkata. The public outrage is entirely understandable. Thoughts and prayers with her family.
“Why is @MamataOfficial leading a rally on the RG Kar Hospital incident”? Fair question.
Because:
👉 CBI, which is now handling the case, must give daily updates on the investigation
👉 The deadline given by the CM to Kolkata Police to complete the investigation was August 17. The same must apply to CBI
👉 Kolkata Police has arrested one accused. Justice will happen only when CBI nabs ALL involved and sends case to a fast-track court
CBI taking over the case shouldn’t lead to it being quietly buried. The urgent need of the hour is swift justice and the harshest punishment for the culprits. No one who committed this barbaric act must be spared
P.S. Those who attacked and ransacked the hospital also need to be booked. The police have arrested 19 people.
#WATCH | Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee says, "The people who vandalised RG Kar Hospital yesterday and created this ruckus are not connected to the student movement of RG Kar Medical College, they are outsiders, I have seen as many videos, I have three videos as I can see, in which some people are holding national flags, they are BJP people, and some are DYFI are holding white and red flags. Yesterday, the police were also attacked...Police were attacked... I would like to congratulate them that they did not lose patience, they did not hurt anyone... Now the case is not in our hands, it is in the hands of CBI, if you have something to say, then tell CBI, we have no objection..."
🚨🔵 Bad news for Man City as Oscar Bobb has fractured a bone in his leg.
He’ll be out for several months as Man City sources confirm, per @Jack_Gaughan.
A treating doctor on duty gets raped and murdered and you want doctors to keep putting their head down and work?
Who will stand up for justice for the girl?
Who will ensure safety of other female doctors? You?
Even after seeing a rape being labelled as "suicide" none of the emergency services got hampered. Yes. Irrespective of what they suffer, they still treat.
You won't understand it ever. And yes if you wana call shame on me or my colleagues for this. I take it 😏
Left: Doctors protesting all over the country after a gruesome rape and murder in Kolkata.
Right: A convicted rapist is released from jail by Haryana's Government.
Both are from the same day in the same country.
Imagine how morally bankrupt Haryana's politicians are that they are willing to let a convicted rapist leave jail just because he controls a vote bank.
1.1 Mamata govt. is attempting to erase evidence under the guise of renovation. At #RGKar Hospital, just 20 meters away from the site of murder, office of Chest Department was demolished.
#BengalHorror
The barbarity the female #KolkataDoctor was subjected to is unfathomable.Members of her fraternity in Kolkata have shared some of the details with me and they are blood curdling. May her family find the atmabal to deal with this horrendous trauma and get justice! Om Shanti.
I cannot imagine a more blatantly, brazenly and unabashedly shameless person than @sagarikaghose who had said she will never accept a Rajya Sabha ticket, but has accepted it unashamedly & without blinking an eye.
I’m not surprised. The anger. The sadness. The sheer misfortune of being born a woman in India. In today’s world. The world that men live in will always try to protect them and the world women live in will always try to kill them and pin their own death on them.
1. Men shouldn’t be allowed to go into isolated, poorly lit areas.
2. Men should avoid situations where women are alone.
3. Men shouldn’t leave hostels between 7pm-7am
4. While on duty men should be well composed emotionally and not resort to violence against anyone.
