I don’t think it was a red either, but Max did lash out and kick at him, did he not? He needs to understand that opponents will continually try to provoke him, and he can’t afford to lose his head in those moments. As an Arsenal player, he often won’t get the benefit of the doubt. It’s unfair, but it’s the reality we all see as supporters. He has to learn to keep his composure, regardless of the circumstances
I disagree. Max has now been sent off for both country and club in the matter of a few weeks due to poor lapses in judgment. I understand his frustration, but as a professional footballer with the opportunity he has for playing time, he simply cannot put himself in those situations. Whatever Arteta said should remain between manager and player. The public isn’t entitled to every comment or conversation
Bro looking at your team, keep the diversity. Regardless of the value going out/coming in, you’d be living and dying by Cowboys offense with Dak, Javonte, Ceedee. There’s only so many fantasy points to go around for one offense and an off week? You’re screwed. I’d keep what you have
Against the Cardinals, the defense finally got stops and the rushing attack shined. Gibbs 6.0 YPC with 200+ all-purpose yards. Both RBs face different challenges with their teams. Neither is lesser than the other. Just appreciate their different playstyles and what they bring to the game
@Cyrion84@azazelandhades@Lurn2Reed It has nothing to do with the O-line. Lions do have one of the best in football statistically. Gibbs and the rushing attack have been handicapped by a historically awful defense, ranking dead last in nearly every major category until last week. They’re constantly chasing games
@noir_nomad@PFT_Live@ProFootballTalk@CSimmsQB Had nothing to do with the Commanders. Lions had both Coordinators, bags packed, with a foot out the door and they left for Head Coaching jobs the day after they were eliminated. They were distracted and had their eyes elsewhere, plain and simple
@971theticketxyt If the Lions fired Brad Holmes, he would undoubtedly be the #1 GM candidate on the market next offseason and he'd have his pick of the litter for his next job. That's a fact. Lions fanbase should be thankful he saved us from the 60+ years of purgatory we were stuck in
A lot can change too in the secondary between now and the Week 9 trade deadline. There’s time to see how Branch, Kerby and the rest of the room look health wise before deciding if that kind of trade is really necessary. Another team could beat you to it, but that’s part of the risk. I agree CB would obvi be the position to go get
@the_goffense@Max11089 That’s totally fair, and I agree it’s not the same. Maybe this is all part of the plan to sit back and play hardball and see if Pittsburgh finds a suitor for their asking price. So far, nobody’s pulled the trigger, which only strengthens Detroits position
And this is my point. It’s easy to say “trade the picks and go get the missing piece” for a SB run, but these deals rarely age as well for the team giving up the draft capital. More often than not, the team stockpiling the picks ends up better off long term. Sauce is a perfect example of that risk
@the_goffense You can look at a deal like Micah Parsons to Green Bay, everyone praised that at the time, and Parsons was widely considered a top edge rusher in football. How's that worked out for the Packers? Plenty of other examples of high profile trade and extends not working in the NFL
@the_goffense The major hesitation to me is if JPJ is that good and Detroit should be rushing to trade premium draft capital and pay him top of CB market money, why hasn’t Pittsburgh already done it? They drafted and developed him and know him better than anyone
@tuorgo That's cute to roll down memory lane and show a player's prime from covid, reality is he'd be in street clothes at the end of the bench like he has been over the past few seasons
