It is literally amazing to me how many people don’t understand the significance of offsides in soccer and are calling for it to be eliminated. Trapping your opponent offsides is often a key part of the strategy. Wow… 🙄
Ohh Mr. William. How you keep moving the field goal posts. Do you know that surveys and studies (the ones you continually want to reference) are created by talking to executives who do the hiring, firing, and can vouch for what types of applicants are showing up in the workplace, how prepared they are, and what their attitudes are? Evidently not. Apparently you do care or you would not keep responding.
This entire dialog started because I stated my opinion. You have been the one playing chase trying to convince me that what I've seen and continue to see isn't real. It doesn't matter if you believe me and I frankly don't care. That said, we will continue to turn away applicants who do not have the right attitude, work ethic, or preparation for today's roles and most of these applicants are in younger generations. It may not be all their fault but it will not keep us from saying no and expecting a better candidate or automating certain skill sets if we cannot find them.
This is not a Boomer issue, this is an issue with whatever applicant is showing up today, no matter what their age. It's for every person that "only wants remote work" when we're not offering it. It's for every person that is hired then complains they don't like travel when the job they got hired for required "50% travel." It's for every employee who thinks they should be getting bonuses for doing the basic requirements of their job. For every candidate that asks what "guarantees we will give if they stay 3 years. These are all things happening every day and will likely not change. And they are things I don't see much from 40,50, and 60 year olds. Case closed. This will be my last reply. You are now freed up to do other things and challenge other realities you just cannot seem to accept. Best of luck!
Amen.... I've been asking this for years. Why is it ok to villainize CEOs who provide thousands of jobs, work all year, and create better lives for their employees while nobody complains there are NFL quarterbacks out there who make multiples more, are just entertainment, and work 17 Sundays a year. The Dr. across the street treating pediatric cancer makes a fraction of the QB across the street throwing a leather ball. One set of fans cheering for their team, the other set, likely 4-5 family members, prays their child survives....
@hdemott3@theobjectivist No, you can only reallocate what someone produces. When the incentive to produce is gone (because it will be taken) the production stops and everyone becomes poor. Socialism is a race to the bottom.
I have and continue to claim that my opinion is based on my experience. You then questioned if I really had broad enough experience to come to my conclusion and questioned my professional credentials. Now, I have provided them, they are extensive, and span decades. That is my evidence. I don't need a poll or a publication when i'm the person they poll to get insight on what employers are seeing.
@PeterSchiff I love you man but you know no new manufacturing jobs are showing up that quick. How about a feature on construction jobs first. Goodness … it takes years just to bring factories online. Let’s call this a success or failure this time 2030.
