I’m not buying this line of argument. Johnson knew, as everybody in the Conservative Party knew, that the Brexit referendum was about heading off the (over-stated) electoral threat from UKIP and simultaneously dealing with a fringe group of MPs in the party who were a distraction and wouldn’t shut up. Nobody, Johnson included, thought the country would actually vote for it. There was never going to be a White Paper because nobody sensible could think of anything to put in it. The expectation was that the electorate would sort the Conservative Party’s internal squabbles out for them by decisively rejecting it and all would be well. As an aside, we have the choice of continuing with this failed non-policy or not, and the current government have chosen to continue with it. I would love to see a White Paper laying out the case for staying out of the single market and customs union.

@theAliceRoberts I'd strongly recommend people use the "Following" tab, not "For You", so they see the people they're following and get everything - not what Twitter decides.

Secondly, when viewing replies use the "Most Recent" sort order. The default of "Most relevant" filters out comments.

⁃cheat on his wife with a porn star and a playboy model, AND pay the porn star $130,000 to make sure she didn’t tell anyone about it right before the 2016 election
⁃sexually assault a woman in the dressing room of a department store
⁃commit child-rape with Jeffrey Epstein, AND sexually harass over 25 women who came forward, accusing him AND enter the Miss Teen USA changing room where girls as young as 15 years old were undressed
⁃conspire to steal the 2020 election by creating false slaves of electors, AND conspire to the attempted hanging of the vice president
⁃steal classified documents, hid them in his bathroom, and obstruct government attempts to get them back, AND extort Ukraine to interfere in the election in 2020, nor encourage Russia to help him win in 2016
⁃actively undermine the nations response to a once in a lifetime pandemic and let the deadly disease spiral out of control for months
⁃orchestrate a month-long coup attempt that culminated in a violent insurrection, to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power and install himself as un-elected dictator AND
⁃spew deranged conspiracy theories about everything from climate change, to immigration, to vaccines, to windmills

He thinks that we…

⁃we shouldn’t care that he was impeached twice, or that he is a 34-count convicted criminal felon AND we shouldn’t believe nor care that he was banned from doing business in the state of New York for three years
⁃we shouldn’t care that he has to pay half billion dollars in business fraud fine, cause he’s innocent AND we shouldn’t believe that he took millions from foreign governments while you was president
⁃we should believe him when he says he’s not a rapist, he’s not a thief, he’s not a grifter, a liar, a philanderer, a narcissist, a glutton, a bully and a complete ignoramus, and we shouldn’t believe that he cheats at golf
⁃he a good Christian leader, dedicated to truth and justice for all
