Someone jumped straight from a corporate world into trading and when she failed you are suggesting diabolical undertones.
What trading training did she go through? Did you think those people spending 6 years on apprenticeship training a waste?
African, take responsibility.
Someone close to my wife quit her corporate job and opened a business in one of the popular markets in Lagos. She was selling raw foodstuffs. She contacted my wife to patronize her and help her tell more people. When my wife told me about it, I jokingly asked if her friend is ready for that journey because you must have been 100% ready and sure of yourself before renting a shop in the middle of a market in this part of the world.
Well, after in and out of the hospital for about 6 months, she is supporting her husband's laundry business now.
You no dey go church, you no dey go mosque, you no sabi laalu ogiri oko, you go dey rent shop for market place....
O.Y.O.
@DavidHundeyin@preyecole Then what will be your solution if you find yourself in a toxic relationship with no genuine efforts for peace. Will you remain in a relationship that strangulates and emasculates your existence simply because your partner has greater purchasing power?
@DavidHundeyin@preyecole I respect your opinions everytime @DavidHundeyin
But I totally don't agree on this one. Our problem is bringing people of different ethnicity and Opposite beliefs together.
Our inability to align ideas is what they enjoy.
For me Regional governance or Division!
Federalism ❌❌
I've said it many times before, and just as nobody was listening then, I know nobody is listening now, but I'll say it again because hey, why not?
Dear African organised private sector:
The reason that your operating environment is always trying to kill you, and you struggle to grow despite having a market of 1.4 billion of the world's youngest people, is because nearly all of the think tanks, policy research institutes, civil society organisations, and media in Africa are owned, funded, directed or controlled by external actors who are trying to kill you. Your growth and success are not in their interests.
If you have ambitions of becoming what you really ought to become, you must come together and fund African think tanks, policy research institutes, civil society organisations, and - especially - media. You need to do this with the full understanding that these things will never turn a direct profit for you, and they are investments with a long turnaround, but that if well done, they are the difference between remaining a village champion capitalist and getting Africa Finance Corporation to approve financing for a pipeline that raises your country's energy generation by 50,000MW and turns you into billionaires.
If you don't come together and do this, rest assured that white men are already doing it for you. Just that their think tanks are recommending that your countries should defund higher education and starve you of the human capital you need to succeed; their policy research institutes are publishing papers calling for the continent with 3.9 percent of global emissions to do "energy transition" to cut the emissions it doesn't have; their civil society organisations are focused on LGBTQ - which is famously Africa's greatest and most pressing issue; and their media is drip-feeding your market of 1.4 billion consumers with every type of misinformation and disinformation under the sun.
If you're happy with that, then never mind me. I'm just some Nigerian yapper who thinks too much for his own good, and we're all gonna die anyway. ✌🏾
All the people that protested against bad governance in 2012 and can’t speak up today are hypocrites. is Nigeria better today, where are the pastors and professors that condemned Jonathan in 2012
Yesterday, I read my dear brother Kenneth Okonkwo's open letter in which he expressed differing views with me on the skirmishes in our party. And today I saw various responses to the letter.
What they will not tell you is that our GDP was 500 billion plus in 2012, Todays it’s 250 billion plus. We have lost half of our GDP under the APC since 2015.
This is very shameful of you.
I respect you for the good you do on personal and group levels.
Nevertheless, thank you for letting me know who you are not a deeper level. A troll and a bigot.
The journey continues.
It is with deep concern I offer my heartfelt condolences for the tragic loss of four lives due to the recent flooding in Anambra State. The news was disturbing to say the least.
The devastation caused by these floods is a stark reminder of the growing threat posed by climate change. Its effects transcend borders, tribes, and creeds, impacting us all.
While we cannot control the weather, we can work together to mitigate its impact. Responsible environmental practices, such as proper waste disposal and avoiding constructions in flood plains, are crucial steps in this fight.
This is the pivot of our messaging; that we understand the challenges of flooding and work together to mitigate it as we continue building resilience infrastructures for the future.
In this difficult time, my thoughts and prayers are with the government of Anambra State, most importantly, families and loved ones of the deceased. May they find strength and solace in the days ahead.

Public Statement
It has come to my attention that the ruling APC has orchestrated a smear campaign in an attempt to tarnish my reputation through baseless and malicious character assassination. This planned campaign is a clear act of desperation to distract the public from the party's glaring incompetence and lack of innovative solutions for the suffering of our people and our nation's pressing issues.
During the campaign, while I appeared on several debate platforms and engaged various stakeholders on our policy solutions, the APC focused on spreading lies, hate and fear. They lied about my family heritage and twisted my comments to suit their deceitful narrative. They viciously attacked my family with untruths and defamatory remarks all in an attempt to distract the public from issues that really matter, issues that we are all now forced to deal with. Issues such as hunger whilst our political elite continue to live lavishly, flooding whilst they move around in their jeeps, unemployment whilst they borrow money to fund their luxurious lifestyle without accountability or transparency.
Their lies didn't deter us then, and it will not deter us now. We will continue to push our message of a new Lagos, Ourlagos.
Therefore, I urge the public to remain vigilant and critically assess any disseminated negative information. Such propaganda is a calculated move by the APC to divert attention away from their failures in governance and their inability to effectively address the needs and concerns of the people.
I stand firm in my commitment to social democratic values and the pursuit of meaningful progress for our dear state. Let us not be swayed by these deceitful tactics but rather stay focused on holding those in office accountable.
Together, we will build a Lagos that works for all, #ourlagos.
I think Nigerians need to develop a healthy reverence for facts before putting on ring lights and uploading piece-to-cam videos to the internet.
Let's clear up certain misconceptions.
1. "Car manufacture," like every other industrial process nowadays, is globalised. The days of having 20 different manufacturing processes turning raw inputs into finished output under one ceiling are long. long gone. Ever since global trade and comparative advantage became a thing after WW2, everyone from BMW to Boeing has integrated complex global supply chains and JIT (Just-In-Time) supply chain management, which means that the 777 Dreamliner Seun Kuti flies to his concerts in Europe and USA is "assembled" in Renton, Washington, after hundreds of parts are manufactured through a complex series of outsourcing agreements with subcontractors across Europe and Asia. To say that Boeing "does not manufacture aeroplanes" because for the most part, it does not actually make the parts of its planes would be a silly thing to say.
2. There is a world of difference between what Innoson does and the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and SKD (Semi Knocked Down) assembly operations that the likes of VW and Peugeot have run in Nigeria before. For one thing, roughly 65% of IVM parts are sourced locally. All manufacturing processes involving plastic, rubber, electronics and frame moulding are carried out at and within a 100KM radius of IVM's Nnewi factory. An example of this is Union Auto Manufacturing, a subsidiary of @IbetoGroup, which manufactures the batteries used in IVM cars. Another example is Innoson Technical Co, a subsidiary of Innoson Group, which manufactures all plastic, rubber, foam and upholstery components used in IVM cars. The only parts of IVM vehicles that are imported are the engine blocks and other steel components - because Nigeria lacks the required steel smelting capacity.
3. Ownership of manufacturing operations in 2024 is not determined by where specific production processes happen, but by WHO OWNS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. I'm a project manager at a company that makes solar PV hardware. Like most UK product builders, we ideate, plan, design, and manage end-to-end from our location in Britain, but the actual manufacturing is outsourced to a supplier in Shenzhen. Claiming that the UK consequently "does not manufacture" solar PVs would be asinine, because WE OWN ALL THE IP. Innoson owns the IP rights to their vehicles, which is an entire world away from simply assembling VWs and Peugeots. Equating one to the other shows how much Seun Kuti does not understand about how things work, despite his desperation to be heard.
4. IVM does not "assemble Nissan cars." First of all, IVM has no "license" or agreement whatsoever with Nissan. Seun Kuti pulled something entirely out of his ass - not for the first time. Now IVM *does* have IP agreements with a basket of Chinese carmakers including @baicglobal and @DFM_Corporation, but these are IP agreements, NOT supplier licenses. An automotive IP agreement means that you are given access to the designs and schematics of a vehicle by its manufacturer, and you are allowed to reproduce it under your brand name. It basically allows one to venture into vehicle manufacturing without having to reinvent the wheel, and it is exactly how China grew its automotive industry from negligible in 1985 into the world's largest in 2023.
It is NOT the same thing as importing CKD or SKD vehicles to assemble.
Again as I keep saying, I really wish that Nigerian men (it is always men!) would be less obsessive about opening their mouths and making their voices heard, and more concerned with the quality of what comes shooting out of their mouths. It's really not compulsory to speak, especially on things one has zero or half-knowledge on.
We should learn to shut up occasionally ! It's a life skill!
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART:
“… quietly positioned itself to rip Nigerians off..”
And I will explain.
There is this principle - the Paradox of Plenty or Resource Curse - which I encountered for the first time in one of my LLM classes at @aberdeenuni
Put simply PoP or RC is a theory which postulates that many societies with abundant natural resources often have worse economic outcomes than those that lack natural resources.
Whenever PoP or RC was discussed Nigeria was ALWAYS used as an example and I used to feel so embarrassed until one day, I decided to research the point and provide a counter-narrative.
What I discovered was that PoP or RC was relatively benign. However, it had a malignant, relatively unknown and unheard of “elder brother” which I christened “the Infinity Loop Paradox of Plenty” or “Infinity Loop Resource Curse”.
The phenomenon occurs when PoP or RC has gone unchecked for so long that any attempt to positively change the status quo ironically carries a genuine risk of socio-econo-political upheaval or unrest.
Put simply, the ruling class, in such a hypothetical scenario, has come to a sobering reality and resolved that it is far more profitable and comfortable to find new, creative ways of continuing to do the wrong things than to attempt any positive change.
UAE government websites all end with the ".gov.ae" URL. This website is simply ".ae" which means it is not an official UAE government website. Furthermore, according to @scamadviser, the actual owner of the website is hiding their identity by using a paid proxy
So because of this tweet, I dug in a bit and apparently it turns out that the proxy owner being used to hide the true owner is some Canadian guy called Jean Geoffrion.
He is the CTO at a Spanish IT company called Global Voice Group, which according to its website, specialises in "provision of RegTech and Govtech solutions...domestic revenue mobilisation and regulatory compliance."
In other words, the Oyibo answer to Alpha Beta Consulting. You can even read Jean in his own words describing how his work helps governments to "raise sustainable revenues."

It's funny seeing APC folks who insulted us here daily, leading to the election crying about cyberbullying
I simply declared Peter Obi as my candidate, they would curse and insult in droves
"Omo ale" was one of their favorite word
Same folks who consciously started pushing the dangerous bigotry on TL following their candidate's "yoruba lokan" declaration in Ogun state
Same folks who walked the streets of Lagos with placards "my Lagos, not your Lagos" to detar igbos from participating in elections, their fundamental right
Same folks who had the Oro god make their festival on election day, postponing it in perfect sync with election postponement, in a bid to stop igbos from voting
Same folks who threatened igbos from coming out to vote and cheered the thugs leading the campaign
Take a wild guess, who do you think started campaigns against individuals here by sending mass messages to employers?
They're quick to always point at Prof Wole Soyinka as someone being insulted when they, at the same time, were insulting old men like Pa Ayo Adebanjo for supporting Obi
They were angry that their gaslighting did not work on many yoruba who identified as obidients, so they raised their bigotry game to the level we now see in the name of ronu
You'll be amazed there are those in Lagos who believed GRV, who is more Lagosian than most of them, is igbo because of the bigotry game they played. They insulted him day and night, but because he did not fight back, that's acceptable?
Toying Abraham and the Big Ayo insulting each other are not igbos, but guess the narrative they started pushing? Same bigotry lane, blaming igbos
It is someone who is new to Twitter that won't know that you can be insulted for saying "water is good". I, for one, have seen that happen to me even on tweets that have nothing to do with politics
People have been dragged for things of lesser importance than politics, and that's why they say here the floor is slippery. I don't think there's anyone who has been dragged that feels good about it. No one loves it
But we won't allow those APC folks who took baton from BMC boys and girls to rewrite history and make themselves victims when they are the aggressors. They failed repeatedly to link Peter Obi to IPOB, they'll fail again in this their bigotry race, and Nigerians will unite as one against their oppressors
There will always be insults as long as there are human interactions, and it doesn't matter where you camp. I have learnt to use my block button and not feed trolls. It's a thing you can learn too
Tech has really changed people's lives. My friend was staying with someone in Surulere because he needed to stay close to where he could easily access the Island where he works. He was managing himself like this while trying to save money to rent his own place. It's funny that every time his friend’s girlfriend is around, he would have to excuse them by walking aimlessly around the street till the lady leaves.
Goodmorning all, I am passionate about health, Over the years I had two parents that suffered from health challenges, going through the Nigerian healthcare system, I have always sort ways to make my little contribution. Today I open the Oseni center for healing, it will be run in affiliation with existing health centers to provide basic health care in Odogbolu. This is where we are having the outreach
@Morris_Monye Your convictions are built already, it may take more time for her convictions to become rooted
She also needs her own convictions for a successful relationship. She can't depend on your own convictions when storms hit
I honestly won't blame her
