Was looking for some alternatives to Cloudinary for a project I'm building.
Spent some time comparing options and found 3 that look pretty good.
Sharing what I found in case it helps someone.
1. Cloudflare R2 + Images
10 GB free storage/month
No R2 egress fees
5,000 free unique image transformations/month
Automatic resizing and optimization
Pretty good if you want to keep costs low, but setup takes a little more work.
2. ImageKit
3 GB free storage
20 GB bandwidth/month
Automatic WebP/AVIF conversion
Dynamic image resizing
Simple upload APIs
Paid plans start at $9/month
This seems like the easiest one to get started with, especially for smaller projects.
3. https://t.co/O6inEhYvHp
Storage from $0.01/GB/month
CDN from $0.01/GB in NA/EU
Around $0.03/GB in Asia
$1 monthly minimum
Image optimization costs extra
Looks interesting if you're dealing with a lot of image traffic.
One thing I noticed while comparing them:
Cheap storage doesn't always mean cheap image hosting.
You also have to think about bandwidth, image transformations, API requests, and how the pricing changes as your app grows.
I'm leaning towards ImageKit for now, but Cloudflare R2 looks interesting too.
Anyone here using these in production? Would love to know how they've worked out for you
One of my friends feels exactly the same way. She's so drained from work throughout the week that by the time the weekend comes, she'd rather stay home and do nothing than go out
And I kind of get it. When you spend five days dealing with work stress, sometimes all you want is two days of peace to recharge so you can do it all over again on Monday
It's funny how weekends slowly become more about recovering from the week than actually enjoying them
@hemeshgpt Yeah bro, currently working on FlashTix. Mainly building it to get some hands-on experience with microservices.....
What about you? Building anything interesting?
things i wanna get done before the day ends
- work on freelance projects
- solve 3 DSA problems
- make some progress on Flashtix
- make 10 new friends on X (hopefully)
- work on my own product idea
let's see how many i actually finish
Does anyone know a good website for generating gradient backgrounds for web app UIs?
I saw one a while ago but forgot the name. Anyone know which one it might be?

@rvgdev Yeah, some could be consistency issues, but others might be intentional filtering...
The confusing part is that X doesn't make it clear why the count and visible replies differ
A few possible reasons
1. Hidden/filtered replies: X may count replies that aren't visible due to spam filters, private accounts, or moderation
2. Eventual consistency: A reply might be deleted, but the counter hasn't updated yet
3. Caching: The reply count might be showing outdated data
Could also be a mix of these
Does anyone know why the comment counter sometimes shows a number, but the actual number of comments is lower?
For example, I don’t see any comments on my latest post, but it shows 1 comment.
