Labour’s Lucy Powell is at it again, branding X a “toxic and difficult environment” and demanding the government “strengthen regulations” on platforms like Elon Musk’s X.

We all know what “strengthen regulations” really means: state censorship. They’re desperate to muzzle the one platform that relentlessly exposes their lies, U-turns, and policy failures in real time.

Just days ago, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy quit X entirely, taking her whole department with her, while slamming it as a far-right misinformation network that now favours abuse over debate and isn’t healthy for democracy.

Every social media platform has ugly corners. That’s the unavoidable price of genuine free speech in an open society. We already have robust laws against incitement to violence, direct threats, and defamation.

What Labour wants isn’t safety; it’s control. They can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas, so they’re trying to shut the marketplace down. Free speech isn’t negotiable!

Ah yes, the timeless classic: “Refugees Welcome… Just Somewhere Else.” They’re at it again 😂😂

For years, Rachel Millward has championed the familiar message: “Refugees are welcome,” safe routes, compassion, the right to work, and criticism of the UK’s “hostile environment.”

Then the Home Office proposed housing around 600 asylum seekers at Crowborough Army Camp—right on her doorstep.

Suddenly it’s all “absolutely appalled,” concerns about safety, poor planning, lack of consultation, and even talk of legal action.

Funny how “welcome” can come with an asterisk the moment the postcode changes.

It’s amazing how limitless compassion develops very clear boundaries when it arrives in your own constituency. Apparently, “Refugees Welcome” is more of a slogan than a location.

Most people don’t object to helping those genuinely in need. They object to a system that feels poorly managed and to politicians whose principles seem a lot more flexible when the consequences become local.

Nothing exposes political messaging quite like having to live with the policies you enthusiastically recommend for everyone else

🚨 The Government has failed its audit for the third year in a row.

That comes directly from the National Audit Office.

They have put our taxes up by £70 billion while telling us there isn’t enough money.

Yet the National Audit Office that has examined the Whole of Government Accounts, covering around 10,000 public bodies…

…and concluded the Government cannot pass its audit.

It’s also the same National Audit Office that has previously found up to £81 billion a year is lost through fraud and error.

There are those who say the answer is to pay more tax.

Here’s a better idea.

If the Government can’t pass an audit, and up to £81 billion a year is being lost through fraud and error…

…perhaps we should start paying attention to where our money is actually going.
