For one of the biggest days in the clubs history Malaga fans flooded in their numbers to Zaragoza for the final day of the Regular season, Malaga boasted with the news that Diego Murillo was fit to start the game and Juan Funes was able to name a basic fully strength 11 and bench. Fantastic videos were posted before the game of Malaga and Zaragoza fans chanting and partying together albeit after a disastrous season for the home club.
Carlos Dotor had a great opportunity after 4 minutes with Los Boquerones starting very much on the front foot. A well worked corner saw Larrubia next to test the Zaragoza goalkeepers palms. The heavy pressure continued with Larrubia smashing wide from the centre of goal 19 yards out, a huge chance to take the lead. 4 minutes later Chupete hitting the side netting, the goal is coming id be surprised if its 0-0 at HT.
1-0 MALAGAAAAA!!!! CHUPETEEEE!!!! Great work from Larrubia who was having a fine game, making the goalkeeper work who could only parry to the most lethal striker in the league VAMOS!
A sticky end of the half, Malaga took their foot off the gas a little just allowing Zaragoza to grab a few corners that came to nothing. The second goal will be huge for and Malaga at it was very much needed at the break.
10 minutes in the second half Chupete had a fantastic chance from close range, Malaga once again on top. Both teams really struggled in the second half, both making many changes interrupting the play. 73 minutes in, a Zaragoza goal would drop Malaga out of the Playoffs.
PENALTY MALAGA!!!! 75 minutes on the clock with the ball in Chupeteโs hands, a lazy tackle from Saidu through the back of Niรฑo saw the referee go to the VAR screen and change his mind. GOL GOL GOL CHUPEEEE 2-0 surely game set and match.
It was a controlled performance from hear onwards for Funes and his team a very professional performance limiting a poor Zaragoza team to any meaningful attacks. Chupe chasing the Pichchi came close late on once more but couldnโt add to his 24 goals.
WE ARE THERE!!!! VAMOS @MalagaCF ๐
@RichardKosmala@MalagaCF Im sure your just setting us up for a disaster, 5th time youโve said this Kosbert, but yes I do agree thereโs a big incentive but more to the point Malaga are a fantastic team and have been since November
