At minimum, auth system needs:
- user table + identity table + sessions table
- password hashings
- email verification/ password reset flows
- rate limiting and bot protection
- OAuth provider integrations if you want Google etc

- CSRF protection
- rate limiting and bot/abuse protection
- OAuth provider integrations if you want Google/GitHub/etc.
- MFA / TOTP / passkeys if security matters
- device/session revocation
- audit logging
