An ego diminishment exercise:
Whenever your ego feels under attack or is diminished (someone disagrees with your view, you are blamed for something, calls you a name, etc)
DO NOTHING
Are you able to handle it? Do you have the presence to resist the temptation to counter?
This not to say you should allow others to walk over you or bully you or take advantage. You are allowed to remove yourself from the situation, tell them to back off or even say No. You will not be perceived as weak but powerful and in control of yourself.
You have have allowed space for your true self to shine through. You'll feel a surge of energy and alertness and peace. The more you practice the less reactive your body becomes, a quicker return to stillness and calm decision making.
@bluewmist Many of these allow you to channel the present moment effortlessly. You stop thinking about what you did in the past, stop worrying about the future. It's how humans are meant to live!
@thegarybrecka But how do we know those effects aren't coming from another variable? You're outside, presumably in nature, probably getting some sun, being in the present movement by feeling the sensations of the ground and your feet. All things we know to be good for the body and mind.
@RepByRepX It's because your glycogen levels got depleted while lifting. This is the stored sugar your body uses for energy. Your body is craving the things that will fill them back up! This is why many people recommend carbing up after a lift in addition to the protein.
