My concern is why President AKD, who campaigned on equality, inclusivity, and even took it to the extent of a Secular State is even entertaining this conversation.

Today we are told it is only for disciplining and de robbing monks. But they are requesting the 1931 law be revised. What will the revision entail? What guarantee do you have that it will be limited to disciplinary only? No one is questioning that!

More importantly, is this not a complete departure from the ideals that AKD himself advocated on political stages?

You cannot campaign for a secular, inclusive state where all citizens are treated equally, and then embrace proposals that move governance in the opposite direction.
