Thinking of Justin, Sophie and the Trudeau family today.
Separation and divorce are tragedies of their own. But this one is different; it's on full display for all to see.
Shame on those who chose to politicize this and laugh at the break up of a family.
The separation of Prime Minister Trudeau from his wife Sophie, announced moments ago via social media, demonstrates one thing - and one thing alone: the immense personal toll that public life takes on the immediate families and spouses of those who have the courage to serve.
That's all.
It's representative of nothing else. I hope Canadians will recognize this in spades and afford our PM and his family the privacy they so deserve at this very difficult time. #cdnpoli

Please re-Tweet if you agree: #Caregiving isn’t always a choice. But how you give care and how it changes what you value in life, those are choices.

I’d argue with Steve. Data convincingly show that it’s through connection, and even social obligation, that humans flourish. Gift- liberalism reminds us of that, and balances autonomy with a recognition of the evolutionary and spiritual need for mutual support. @nytdavidbrooks
Excellent piece by @nytdavidbrooks on how liberal value of autonomy divorced from our obligations/connections to community has contributed to Canada's lax laws on #MAiD - https://t.co/fG48mEyclG

Nature also reminds us of the impermanence of life.
From the changing of the seasons to the life cycles of plants and animals, nature teaches us to embrace change and find beauty in impermanence.

When the earthquake struck in Turkey, these two nurses dropped everything — to protect innocent newborns.
The whole building was shaking, but they never left the babies' side.
The nurses names are Devlet Nizam and Gazel Çalışkan.
Know their names.
