You say young men are being forgotten.

They are not.

Young men are already included in education policy, workforce programs, housing strategies, healthcare planning, and mental-health funding. They are part of youth strategies across this country.

This is not a forgotten group.

What is happening is the deliberate creation of a grievance narrative.

No one disputes that young men deserve opportunity, stability, and support.

But you don’t get to advocate for young men by erasing women, people of colour, Indigenous communities, LGBTQ+ Canadians, and people with disabilities.

You don’t get to talk about fairness while selectively deciding whose struggles count.

Young men matter.
So do young women.
So do disabled Canadians.
So do racialized communities.
So do Indigenous youth.

Frankly, the only person you consistently center in this conversation is yourself.

You are politicizing identity, not solving problems.

This playbook isn’t Canadian it’s Republican (Project 2025)

It’s straight out of the Charlie Kirk / JD Vance culture-war strategy: divide people, manufacture resentment, and turn social issues into political weapons.

Canadians see it.

You are not advancing a uniquely Canadian vision.

You are importing an American grievance narrative and trying to pass it off as concern.

If your vision truly cared about young people, it would include:

• Mental-health supports for all youth
• Affordable education and training
• Good jobs and fair wages
• Accessible healthcare
• Strong disability supports
• Real equity and inclusion

Leadership expands the circle.

It doesn’t shrink it.

Canadians don’t need culture-war letters.

After watching Ontario’s healthcare, education, and now Canada’s economic sovereignty be publicly undermined, I felt compelled to write.

Your repeated attacks on public healthcare, your push toward privatization, and your alignment with U.S.-style economic and political rhetoric are profoundly at odds with Canadian values.

What finally crossed the line was your public attack on Prime Minister Mark Carney over Canada’s EV agreement with China approximately 49,000 vehicles. Days later, the U.S. President Donald Trump, threatened Canada with 100% tariffs for pursuing that same cooperation. Different words, same message, striking timing.

It strains credibility to suggest this alignment is coincidental. At minimum, it publicly undermines Canada’s federal government and emboldens foreign pressure against our economic sovereignty.

Canada’s universal healthcare system protected under the Canada Health Act is being eroded under your leadership through chronic underfunding and creeping privatization. This is not modernization. It is dismantling.

The same pattern is now emerging in public education and other essential services. Ontarians did not consent to having public institutions weakened or sold off.

For these reasons, and in the interest of protecting Ontario’s public institutions and Canada’s independence, I am calling on you to step aside.

Ontario deserves leadership that puts Canada first.
