I've been (or was, anyway) a Mandy Patinkin fan for decades, so I've watched a lot of his interviews over the years. He's an intense and often angry guy.

He and his wife Kathryn Grody are, like most of Hollywood, quite arrogant about their far-left politics. They'll say they want Israel to exist but in their next breath, blame Israel not only for all of the unrest in the Middle East but also for all of the Jew hate around the world.

Any act of terrorism against Israelis is their own fault for mistreating Palestinians and any attack on Jews anywhere in the world is the direct result of Israel making Jews look bad, etc. Islamist jihadists and antisemites are both infantilized as too helpless to be held responsible for their Jew hatred - it must be that they were forced to feel that way by the Jewish state and Netanyahu (a man so obviously evil that Mandy claims to have sensed it emanating from his person at a UN event some 40+ years ago, compelling him to move his infant son away from Bibi before he even knew who Bibi was).

And if Islamists gleefully massacre a thousand or so Jewish civilians here or there, or kidnap a few hundred more to torture, that's not really their fault because after all, those mean Israelis are treating Gazans exactly like Jews were treated in the Holocaust! Who knew that Treblinka and Bergen-Belsen were chock full of three-star hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, or that the Jews in Auschwitz elected their own government to run the place and then were given billions in western aid money every year to spend however they liked on their 'open air prison'?

The true Patinkin religion is pure Hollywood pap. They trade on their image as a Jewish New York power couple but always while loudly letting it be known that - not to worry - they aren't those kind of Jews, darling. Just give them half a chance and they'll demonize the only Jewish state for you like they're presenting at the Oscars.
