This orangutan tried fighting a bulldozer to protect its home 🤯😢

Loggers cleared every tree around it in West Borneo for palm oil. When the digger came for the last one, it climbed down and tried to fight the machine with its bare hands.

Fewer than 80,000 orangutans survive today. Indonesia lost over 430,000 hectares of forest in 2025 alone. And it’s not just the animals paying for it. The same deforestation is stripping the land’s ability to absorb water, causing catastrophic floods that killed over 1,500 people across Sumatra last year. The bulldozers destroying orangutan habitat are destroying the natural flood defenses that protect the villages next door.
We talk about sustainability, but for millions of people in these communities, survival comes first. It’s hard to care about deforestation when you can’t feed your kids.

The data is consistent: when people can participate in the economy, they stop stripping the land to survive. They protect what surrounds them. Sustainability starts with dignity.

In many industrial pig farming systems, piglets are separated from their mothers at around 3-4 weeks old. The mother pig can then be bred again within days, repeating the cycle multiple times a year. 😣

Industry language often describes this as “production efficiency” or part of the “production cycle.” 💰

When you strip away the terminology, it raises an important question about how animals are viewed within the system. 🐷
