Yesterday, the Senate passed; The County Allocation of Revenue Bill, 2024, and The County Governments Additional Allocations Bill, 2024. As a result, Samburu County is set to receive a total of Kshs. 6,494,039,536.07 for the 2024/2025 Financial Year which consists of both equitable share and conditional allocations from national government revenue and development partners. This allocation represents an increment of Kshs. 412,854,982.72 from the previous financial year 2023/2024, and excludes the county own source revenue.

In light of this, it is imperative that the County Assembly takes the budgeting process seriously, as per their oath of office. This requires a commitment to transparent and accountable financial management, ensuring that the allocation is utilized efficiently and effectively.

Ultimately, the success of Samburu County's development agenda hinges on the ability of its leaders to prioritize and manage resources effectively. We must work together to make the most of the available funding and create a brighter future for the people of Samburu County.
