Dog Mama to the Wilford Brimley of dogs. Diabetic, Howling, Silly, Lovable, and Perfect Charleston Chew Pug (@charlestonpug) Nov 11, 2006- June 27, 2019
Last night we had to say goodbye to the sweetest boy who ever was and ever will be.
For 12 years, 6 months, and 4 days my greatest joy was being his mom.
Please give your furry babies extra loves for us today. Hug them tight and cherish every moment.
@wriggysmom People like yourself are the reason I was able to pull myself from the undertow of grief after losing him. Truly, I’m the one that should be thanking you 🩷
Charleston’s story has been making the rounds again & nothing makes me happier than to see strangers still loving my howling boy. The last couple of years have been the most difficult of my life, but seeing his sweetness still affecting people profoundly renews me 🥹❤️🩹
@dylansh99 Thank you so much! ❤️ It’s heartbreaking & I’m truly sorry to hear you’re dealing with the same. Not a single day goes by that I don’t think “this time last year he was here.” Grief hits you like waves. Cherish every moment!
@emilycfreeman Hahaha! I love that! Occasionally he’d snuggle up with his booty to me, but yes, now that you mention it, Jesse was the vast recipient of such antics.
@emilycfreeman@KatarinaThePug I share that sentiment. On Charleston’s final day, Jesse thanked him for looking out for me & caring for me for so long. He assured Charleston that he could rest easy knowing I was in good hands. It’s a memory that’s both touching & heart-breaking. It was a passing of the torch.
@emilycfreeman@KatarinaThePug Best buds. After our first date, Jesse asked to be taught how to administer insulin shots, what Charleston’s food schedule was, & how to give him his medicine. He wanted to be able to help & take some of my worry away if ever I needed backup. From then on, they were inseparable.
@KatarinaThePug Thank you! 💛Yes on both accounts! These two became instant best friends and Jesse SPOILED Charleston. He bought matching outfits, & when I was out of town, took Charleston to places where dogs would never be allowed. “He’s a celebrity pug!” he’d say. “He goes where he wants!” 😂
@emilycfreeman @VSCBuffaloGrove Oh, Emily! I am so rarely on here. I can’t believe I missed this! I hope Maggie and Charleston’s spirits found each other in some way or some capacity. Thinking of you and sending love your way.
Today would’ve been #13 for my little guy. He’s swaddled in my robe, with his party hat, in front of the TV, catching up on the news before his “stories”. I’m not sure what stage of grieving this is, but I can’t seem to stop taking care of him 138 days after he’s been gone. 💔🐾
@emilycfreeman@CharlestonPug Maggie! 💔 I haven’t been on twitter so I had no idea. I’m so sorry. I like to imagine that they did find each other. Sending love and hugs your way.
@missingmypup@CharlestonPug@AmazingLinus This is so sweet, thank you for sharing. Linus is amazing, as are you. It takes a special person to adopt & care for a senior pup. You’re giving him the greatest final chapter. All the best. ❤️
It was a cathartic day of tears, hugs, & pug therapy at the annual Pugtoberfest in Latrobe, PA with @CharlestonPug in tow.
Being able to donate his belongings & medical supplies allows the sweetest boy to give small pieces of comfort to rescue pugs that deserve the world. 💔❤️
