Kudos to @tjsimard for this comprehensive review on the challenging diagnosis and management of pulmonary vein stenosis. I am humbled by these patients and honored to be working with and learning from the @MayoClinicCV PVS team. Thanks @tjsimard and @JACCJournals!
Pulmonary vein stenosis can arise from several etiologies, including congenital, acquired & iatrogenic sources. PVS presents insidiously, leading to significant delays in diagnosis. Read more on PVS in #JACC: https://t.co/OeDTSMBqDj

@sargsyanz Hey @sargsyanz I don’t really know what to say besides “Thank You”. I will always be grateful for you not just for your teaching but more so how you taught and treated learners along with how you cared for patients. I sincerely mean it - thank you!
Not all patients with a “failing #Fontan” need transplant/the 4th stage of the Fontan procedure. When non-invasive evaluation is inconclusive, exercise catheterization can shed light on the pathophysiology and help tailor therapy
@tmodarressi@grepmeded I remember that nephron and that 1st month of intern year fondly. However, I believe @ScottMillmanMD was actually plans, swing 1, swing 2, and nights while I was swing 3 all month so actually had time to learn from you
@BrototoD Thanks so much @BrototoD for your interest and thoughtful questions! In short, I don’t think we can say for certain. Severe AS/PS or conduction disease could increase ejection times but hypothetically the respirophasic changes should remain. More studies are needed!
The diagnosis of #constriction is challenging. Even at catheterization, assessment can be overwhelming.
Using ejection times in the aorta & pulmonary artery, we describe a simplified method for assessing ventricular interdependence at cath #hemodynamics

@RomitB_MD Thanks so much @RomitB_MD ! Very grateful for my mentors and honored to contribute this small work to the mountain of knowledge laid down by the true #hemodynamics buffs
