@patriottakes "ask a socialist or communist what they hate about capitalism and they'll give you a list of nuanced, factual reasons. Ask a capitalist what they hate about socialism or communism and they'll describe capitalism"
Two policemen with a dog are standing outside of a bar.
A guy comes out, lifts up the dog's tail, shakes his head and leaves.
A few minutes later, another guy comes out and does the same thing.
The policemen begin to wonder what's going on but don't say anything.
When a third guy comes out of the bar to look at the dog's ass,
they stop him and ask, "What are you doing?"
The drunk guy replies, "Sorry, but I had to look for myself, a guy inside is claiming that there is a dog with two assholes standing at the front of the bar."
During World War 2, three generals were arguing over who had the best soldiers...
The British general called one of his men over.
“Private! See that nazi tank in the minefield there? Go destroy it.”
“Yes, Sir!” The soldier replied and started running.
He ran across the unmarked minefield until within range of the tank with his anti-tank weapon, took aim and fired, destroying the tank all the while under heavy fire from the enemy trenches.
“See, British soldiers are the bravest.”
“That’s nothing”, said the Russian General
“Comrade! See that enemy soldier manning that machine gun there? Run across the mines into the trenches and kill him with a knife.”
“Da, Comrade General!”
The russian soldier bravely charges across the minefield under heavy fire, jumps into the trenches fought his way through many enemy soldier then being shot many times by a machine gun nest before reaching the soldier and slicing his throat after a bloody brawl.
“Nobody is braver than a Russian soldier.”
The American general, unimpressed, said, “Let me show you all what real courage is.”
He calls one of his men over.
“Private! See that enemy command post over there? I want you to run naked across the minefields, fight your way through the trenches, go to the command post and kill the commanding officer bare-handed!”
Without hesitation, the American soldier flips him the bird and says
“Go fuck yourself, General.”
“See! Now that takes some real balls!”
an old German joke:
An eight-year old boy had never spoken a word. One afternoon, as he sat eating his lunch he turned to his mother and said, “The soup is cold."
His astonished mother exclaimed, “Son, I’ve waited so long to hear you speak. But all these years you never said a thing. Why haven’t you spoken before?"
The boy looked at her and replied,
"Up until now everything has been satisfactory."
A friend told me this story. He said it happened in his campaign. One of his players, a notorious mini-maxer, asked if he could play a golden dragon. My friend the GM said, "Sure, no problem."
Player: "I suppose I have to start as a hatchling and work my way up?"
GM: "No, you can be a young adult, like every other race."
Player: "It says that a golden dragon can Legend Lore."
GM: "Yup."
Player: "I want to Legend Lore the most powerful artifact in the universe."
GM: "It's the Ring of Infinite Wishes, in Orcus's palace in Hell."
Player: "I can teleport, so I am teleporting to it."
GM: "You're in Orcus's castle. A huge group of Pit Fiends and Bone Devils charge at you."
Player: "I grab the ring and teleport away."
GM: "okay."
Player: "I wish for me to own all the treasure in the universe."
GM: "Granted"
Player: "I wish for me to be the unquestioned ruler of the whole universe."
GM: "Granted"
Player: "I wish for me to be unkillable and invulnerable and immortal. And to know every magic spell with the ability to cast them repeatedly."
GM: "Granted"
At this point, the player kind of just sat there scratching his head. He couldn't think of anything else. In the end, he pushed his golden dragon character sheet aside, and got out his dice, saying, "For my next character, I'm going to be a half-elf."
My friend said that player never tried to mini-max again. I guess he'd gotten it out of his system.
