It may not really be felt by the average person until it is producing the things that average people consume as necessities. It needs to be involved all the way from obtaining/producing the raw resources through processing, assembly, packaging, distribution, and sale. That is a vastly harder problem than AI creating some content or software you consume.
@PreslavMihaylov@elonmusk Seems limited unless you fully connect with Github + Cursor. Bots can kick off the agents no problem, but it does add an unfortunate layer of indirection.
@notch@108r5meme I'm confused, why is it making excuses that it can't screenshot things? I make visual confirmation via screen captures a required part of any decently sized implementation pass. What model?
@TheLaurenChen We've had some terrible years for ticks. Just having a lot of bird feeders around the house helps, they either get eaten up or know to stay away from birds somehow. I'm guessing they get out of control fast without predators.
It's difficult to use these tools effectively without getting pretty technical in telling it what you want. What's the approach for someone non technical? More conversational? The agent keeps pushing you for details and making suggestions? The more the agent assumes, the further you get from what the human had in mind.
@irinatoxi We need to get it to the point of being excellent at creating meshes, textures, rigs, and animations purely from prompts and (often AI generated) concept/inspiration art. We'll get there.
This is the OG WoW team.
Journalists and grifters really did them dirty.
This is the real story.
This was not a "frat house run amok" as they want you to belief.
I should know. I was the Team Lead. Every HR incident would have to cross my desk. (I'm on the left, holding out the champagne bottle from the launch celebration).
None of them were SA or even "Frat Boy" style incidents (we did have one GDC drinking binge that ended up with flooding a hotel room and getting the company banned, but there were no women involved nor anyone harmed). So many articles were written that claimed Blizzard was a haven for some kind of "wild" and out of control environment. They are wrong.
Instead what we were was a group of geeks, many of us socially awkward, all of us with a passion for games and absolutely driven to make the best game we could.
"Frat Boys" would have stuffed us in lockers and given us swirlies.
We worked hard, we were gamers, geeks, nerds. Many were married, with kids, or starting families. Many others were extremely shy, and introverted. We worked really long hours, but that's kinda what it takes to accomplish the exceptional.
I know it's popular to paint OG gamers (and even DnD players/creators) as some sort of toxic group that pushed out women and minorities. But that's a lie. That's the narrative they use to explain why teams were majority men back then. They were men because women wanted nothing to do with games (until it became popular in culture).
We would have loved to see more women interested in what we were doing, and we would not cared if they wanted to join the team. There was only one requirement: You had to be a gamer and passionate about making games and have the skills to back it up.
We were the quiet, awkward nerds who were driven to excellence.
It is such a terrible wrong to paint this team as some sort of menace to women. It's sad that this is the legacy people want to force on not just Blizzard, but all the OG teams from other companies that defined the IPs that carry gaming even today. They were all attacked. They want to destroy the past, tell a false history, so they can supplant it with their modern agenda (and people).
It was done for clicks. It was done for money. It was done for clout.
But when you point that out, they just call you a "woman hating grifter".
All they do is lie and project.
It's easy to paint capitalism as evil if you see supply as fixed, but the reality is that capitalism grows the supply, largely because there is an incentive for individuals to do so for their own gain. It's easier for you to get a bigger slice of the pie as the pie grows bigger. Fighting for a bigger slice of a smaller pie is short sighted.
I paid around 80k for mine. My son loves it. His Mom drives it more than I do. It's safe, tech is cool, self driving is amazing. Taken it from MN to Disney world and back without problems. Great road trip vehicle. If they had a more normal exterior option I'd have chosen that, but you forget all about it when you're inside anyway.
Invest in architecture and infrastructure that allows agents to dump screenshots and state, and be able to load a dumped state with virtual input replay. Make it a hard requirement to have before and after screenshots, and to run screenshots by critical specialist sub agents for sign off before returning from work.
It's slower for sure, but the quality improvement can be dramatic.
@lukarex1c@watkins_japan@esjesjesj Hey @grok approximately how many white Americans died fighting in the civil war (break it down by sides) and how many freed slaves did that sacrifice result in?
I'd say in the context of your post that the group is Americans, and that at the expense of everyone else isn't at all the goal or intention. I want to see wealth created--make the pie radically larger, even if some get bigger slices of it.
I'm highly skeptical of government programs without an adequate incentive and punitive structure in place, as well as transparency and accountability. Politicians and bureaucrats aren't a fan of these things; they want blank checks, backroom deals, and someone to point the finger at when things go south.
