Before the #WHCD party, there was a lot of buzz around @Grindr showing up in Washington. And I’m proud that we lived up to it.
As someone who came to the United States from Soviet Georgia, I have a deep appreciation for what this country makes possible. The life and career I’ve been able to build here are only possible in America, and that shapes how I think about Grindr’s role in the world.
The issues being debated in Washington - HIV funding, digital safety and privacy, and the right of gay people to form families - matter directly to our users, and therefore to us. That is why it matters that Grindr showed up for the White House Correspondents' Dinner weekend.
We are the largest gay company on the planet. Nearly half of all gay relationships in the U.S. started on our app. And while people have often tried to define us too narrowly, the reality is much bigger than that. Grindr serves a real community with real stakes in these conversations.
I’m especially grateful to Joe Hack for his work leading Government Affairs and making this such a strong showing for Grindr. Thanks to everyone who joined us.
We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait for you to see where we show up next.
After years below the radar, Grindr is coming out for WHCD weekend. My latest in @VanityFair on the party everyone in D.C. is buzzing about—and the quiet lobbying behind it. https://t.co/tGiARpQY54
👀Absolutely DAMNING story for @MadisonSheahan...
"Sheahan was allegedly known to verbally abuse staff and aides who worked for her by often threatening to ‘rip their faces off.'"
"When asked to describe what she experienced, the ex-lover did not hesitate: 'Toxic.' 'Volatile.' 'Controlling.'"
"She’d always push to get women fired."
"Sheahan screamed at her lover [...] She would lose her ever-loving mind."
This is a major step forward in confronting the mental health crisis devastating our nation.
An executive order to accelerate access to breakthrough psychedelic therapies for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more offers something too many Americans have gone without for too long: real hope.
Hope for those who have tried everything and still suffer.
Hope for families watching loved ones struggle or even slip away.
Hope for our veterans carrying invisible wounds and trauma in-healed.
For years, I have fought to expand research and responsible access to these promising treatments - including compassionate use under the Right to Try Act - because the science is increasingly clear: when other interventions fail, these therapies can help transform lives.
This executive order affirms that progress. Now Congress must meet the moment.
I am calling on my colleagues to pass my bipartisan Freedom to Heal Act, to turn promise into policy, to turn research into relief, and to ensure that those who are suffering are not left waiting while solutions sit within reach.

Janet Mills is ten years older than I am, and now I’m wondering why I decided not to run for Congress again next year because I didn’t want to be part of the aging problem in Congress. And, if she wins, her term would be SIX years, making her 84 at the end of her first term.
If you have made multiple suicide attempts while serving in elected office and mistreat your staffers in the process, you should not be sent back to Congress. It is not due to the "stigmatization of mental health issues". It is a high-stress job, and people should not be put in there if the rigors pose a danger to them or others.
In the last decade, some online flanks have collectively forgotten something major: there are real consequences to putting people with major mental health issues in massive positions of responsibility. You're not doing them any favors, and you're doing a major disservice to the people who rely on them as well.
