The period from 2022 to 2024 has seen rapid development in EVM Layer 2 solutions, represented by a wide range of projects. These range from OP-stack based L2s with differences in high-level user interaction logic, to L2s with decentralized sequencers (like Metis), and long-term projects with varying architectural logic principles at the proof level (such as zkSync, Starknet, Arbitrum, Optimism, and others). As projects that laid the foundation for the L2 ecosystem and their tokens are being implemented, new standards and architectures are emerging to meet the demands of web3. Among these projects are Layer N, AltLayer, EigenLayer, Celestia, and others. Each of these projects addresses specific tasks with defined goals. Glacier, in particular, has a rather interesting case.
Specifically, Glacier has provided a data-oriented network for seamless and easy processing of datasets using GlacierDB and GlacierAI on top of Arweave, Filecoin, and BNB Greenfield. Glacier has also launched GlacierDA to meet the need for autonomous validation and computation of GenAI execution states.

Glacier Network is building a programmable, modular and scalable blockchain infrastructure for storing, indexing and querying data, extending the power of artificial intelligence and DePIN. What it means.
Glacier is working on a NoSQL database based on ZK-Rollup. The core of Glacier Network is a composable, modular and scalable NoSQL database—GlacierDB. It is built for resilience, immutability, interoperability, and the highest levels of data privacy and security in Web3. Also Glacier powers massive amounts of data in production and fully mines the on-chain data to provide better data services to users. Modularization and decentralization is secured by zk-rollup.

Rollup sequencer processes transactions, produces rollup blocks, and submits rollup proofs to the Layer1 chain and submits rollup data blocks to data availability layer. To prevent negative effects such as transaction censorship and downtime caused by centralized sequencer, the rollup of the DB Shard and DB Meta Registry use a validation network consisting of a single leader and multiple validators to ensure the reliability of the sequencer.
A sequencer validation network consists of multiple sequencer nodes, each of which is independent and has the same copy of data. Among them, the sequencer node (leader) is responsible for receiving transaction traffic, and other sequencer nodes (validator) are responsible for data validation and replicas. If a new sequencer node needs to participate in the validation network, it needs to stake a certain amount of $GLS. If the leader is down due to certain circumstances or there is a problem with the block generation, the leader will be punished, and the entire validation network will reselect a new leader to resume work.
And Glacier applies IPFS, Arweave and BNB Greenfield to store, share, and host datasets at scale to make the storage and query fully secure.
Thus, Glacier offers 2 modules: the Glacier DA and the Glacier DeVector.
