I asked someone what is the difference between Ruto's Regime and Uhuru's Regime.

She said:

“If I want to go to Mombasa and use the SGR, I’m grateful to Uhuru.

When I use the Nairobi Expressway and see how quickly I get to my destination without sitting in tiresome traffic, I say, ‘God bless Uhuru.’

Then I asked, “What about Ruto?”

She paused and said:

“Every month, I look at my payslip and see money being deducted for this thing called Affordable Housing. I resent Ruto. Those houses are not even affordable to the poor. They will mostly be bought by the rich. My money is being used to benefit people who are already better off.

And whenever I walk past Parliament, I get a painful déjà vu. I remember how young people’s lives were lost, and my heart skips a beat.

That is why, when the time comes, I must make the right decision.”

​He’s doing it at 7 PM the day after Sifuna’s rally because he knows the script is dying and he needs to force the audience.

​Here’s the exact speech in my opinion before he even opens his mouth:

​🎯 Affordable housing success PR + “jobs created” + “thousands built” (zero answer to the real issues Sifuna raised)

🎯 “I employed 100k+ teachers” (World Bank money + any government would have done it under CBC)

🎯 New university funding model (the last one failed, this one still has no clear money)

🎯 Roads brag (yet every government builds roads)

🎯 Some tax cuts (classic olkalau pre-election bribe)

🎯 Tough talk on goonism… (while nothing changes on the ground)

🎯 Silence or lies on abductions & police killings (critics & bloggers still disappearing)

🎯 Kenya-to-Singapore fantasy + “hope”

🎯 More promises

🎯 “I saved the economy” (despite the debt explosion under him)

What else I'm i forgetting?

​Worst case: cabinet reshuffle of the same friends, just moved around.

Nothing SPECIAL at all.

​If he had delivered in past 4 yrs, he wouldn’t need a forced 7 PM monologue.

He’d do an open interview. He won’t, questions scare him.

William Ruto has left the country for a 3-day state visit to Italy.

Some will call it a state visit. Others like me will call it what it looks like, fleeing and fleeing away from being held responsible on Tuesday.

We’ve seen this pattern before: he leaves before protests, tensions rise, and when police harm or kill protesters, responsibility is shifted to those left behind.

This script is not new. But this time, it won’t work.
