We are excited to share our new work with you all 💧🔬🩸
"Heterotypic interactions in the dilute phase can drive co-condensation of prion-like low-complexity domains".
Spearheaded by a fantastic postdoc @richoodavis. A longer thread will follow soon.

Including one with Dr Richard Sloan and myself on viruses and IFITM proteins
Check out the new work lead by my lab @TakuKambayashi lab, and the Grice lab at UPenn. We found in mice that the microbiome and immune system regulate a variety of phenotypes in progeny transgenerationally and that this may occur by regulating small RNAs in the gametes.
Proud of our new work showing that biomolecular condensates and phase separation control viral packaging through molecular grammar of a viral protein. "Isn't that how all viral assembly works?" you ask. Yes, yes it is. But CNS editors would think that sounds boring.
@RVirologist Great point, but it may not be as simple as that. Take a look at this https://t.co/hSUrLzHPab or see my earlier tweets to explore why viral assembly may be more complicated than we thought.
OUT NOW!

Anyone familiar with adenovirus knows that this virus uses a lot of fascinating molecular biology to replicate, but some of our early follow-up findings are exceptionally intriguing!
Thrilled to announce that our paper on adenovirus and biomolecular condensates was published today in @Nature. https://t.co/hSUrLzHPab. What a fantastic achievement from everyone involved! @WeitzmanLab. I am really excited about where this will take our future research!
8. In follow-up studies we are investigating how viral biomolecular condensates are regulated, and how progeny assembly is initiated when two pathways (phase-separated capsid proteins and newly synthesized viral genomes) converge.
