Television was better when *your life* was simpler. This is the same reason your favorite SNL cast was the one that existed when you were in high school.
@bdquinn And worse - so many people unconsciously calibrate their expectations of others’ responsiveness based on the assumption that they are receiving push alerts. So just turning them off isn’t a consequence-free solution.
Shame on you Governor Shapiro for referring to progressives as performiative. So sick of the arrogance and hubris that come from establishment politicians like you.
We are not performing. We are fighting for the working class and for our children that the establishment have left behind in favor of their oligarchy friends the Epstein class and special interest. The American people are demanding something different and we as progressives are a much needed breath of fresh air away from white supremacy American hegemony and patriarchy. We demand dignity respect safety and opportunity for all.
@ix_sir "The reason your facts are wrong this topic is because I've imagined you said something else about an unrelated topic that I don't agree with."
@bdquinn Another thing that makes me mad about this is that she clearly has a delusion that she “helped” build whatever America is today through her “work ethic.” She can choke on a bag of donkey dongs.
In a lot of places in Europe, mini-split AC systems have been common (not ubiquitous, granted) for decades. Central air systems just aren’t practical in a lot of European housing. Widespread AC would require substantial electrical infrastructure upgrades.
I think there are ways to pick at Josh’s mockery of European anti-AC sentiment. Places like the UK would only really benefit from AC maybe one month out of the year. There are some mountain town communities in the U.S. that don’t have AC for similar reasons. 1/X
In addition to being puzzled that Europeans choose to live like they're poor -- Japan has widespread AC and European countries could afford it -- we are amused by the folk-wisdom justifications for suffering, like that AC causes dangerous "thermal shock" to the body.

A big part of being a Trump fan is believing in invisible ballot ninjas who bend the laws of time and space to make Trump look bad.
Indeed, if there were no invisible ballot ninjas, you'd have to admit he sucks at his job.
@janecoaston It's like all the people that found the Unabomber to have some "good points," and then you get a bit more about his life story and you're like "no, he was clearly just on a self-reinforcing spiral of anti-social tendencies and generalized anxiety."
