Tomorrow will be my last day as a Division I Athletic Trainer (probably ever) and my Sunday scaries have got me doing a lot of reflecting on how I got to this point #ATtwitter 🧵
Yesterday an athlete won player of the week, today heartbreaking news breaks.
Worlds view: Athlete crushing it on the field
Reality: Mental health tearing her apart inside
How many more do we have to lose…
We need to be better & have better resources‼️
Had a soccer ref caution me for “running on to the field too early” last night. I kindly told him I also had a job to do and the fact that I was actually “running” means I deemed the situation needed it.
Gotta love the random power trip!
The results of the most recent NATA Salary Survey are very discouraging. There is ZERO reason why the average salary for a male AT is over $11,000 more than a female AT. This is unjustifiable. According to the NATA, 55% of members identify as female. This is Women dominant field!
I understand that the lanes in work zones can get a little tight sometimes, but riding in your lane and mine 1. Is really hazardous 2. Makes me want sacrifice my body and let us both wreck #maybethatsjustme

I get that rain makes corn, and corn makes whiskey. And whiskey makes your baby get a little frisky…but if it continues to rain my apartment will float away
If you know an AT, please send them all the extra love and support you can. Like other healthcare professions right now, they’re emotionally & physically exhausted from being overworked, underpaid, or sadly in some cases—both.
To all of you out there: be strong. We got this.
