Landmark decision to transform Central Health Establishment as Border Health Services and revamp it a major step forward in preventing cross border spread of disease.

Dr Mahipala, WR Pakistan, handed over Infection, Prevention & Control (IPC) supplies and awareness raising messages to the airport health authorities to strengthen infectious disease surveillance and for early detection of mpox cases at the POE
Points of Entry (airports, ports and land crossings) can cause the spread of diseases through persons and goods internationally. Strengthening of disease surveillance at POEs enable countries to better prevent and respond to these public health risks occurring at PoE
“I am impressed by the functional surveillance system in place at the Islamabad Airport for detection of mpox cases & appreciate the strong coordination between the health staff, civil aviation &other airport authorities for their wonderful efforts” said Dr Mahipala, WR Pakistan.
Meeting of the Airport health department chaired by Director BHS for the review of protocols and measures Adopted in lieu of MPOX imported cases in Pakistan. Director shb gave detailed instructions regarding vigilant screening, and IPC PROTOCOLS.
