I was working at ELD Central Police Station back in 2021 when we got one of the wildest, most messed-up cases I’ve ever handled. It was around 3:15am when we received a call from some neighbors living in those old flats behind Eldo Grill. A young man was panicking, claiming a girl he had brought over for a sleepover had passed out and wasn’t waking up.

We rushed there. Bro the scene was bad. The guy was in complete shock, pacing up and down, shirtless, eyes red like he’d been crying for hours. A group of neighbors stood awkwardly in the corridor. The girl lay motionless on his bed, fully dressed apart from her shoes.
When we checked her, she was cold. No pulse, no breath. The guy kept stammering, saying ‘I didn’t do anything… we were just having fun… she said she felt dizzy… then she collapsed…’

He had no idea who she really was. Met her at a local club, got drunk together, came home and that was it. No ID, no phone on her, no purse.

We had to wait till morning. Around 6:30am, we moved her body to Gynocare as the law requires in such sudden death cases. By then, word had already spread in the estate. Tension was high.

Later that day, DCI officers took over. Postmortem revealed traces of hard liquor, some sedatives, and signs of possible struggle. The fact that no one could confirm what really happened and that the guy had no way to identify her made it worse.

The missing persons report came in later; her family had reported her missing around midnight. She was a university student from Moi.

The guy was arrested, charged with manslaughter at first but when pressure mounted from the public and the autopsy report showed bruises and drug interaction, the DPP upgraded the charge to murder.
I swear to you bro he’s serving time at Eldoret GK Prison right now. Lost his freedom, his family disowned him, and no one in that neighborhood wants to even hear about that house.
