While we probe high-level graft, protect everyday Ugandans from digital thieves. Stronger cybersecurity, awareness, & enforcement needed. Billions recovered from some tax scams before, but victims still suffer. Let's build a Uganda safe from all corruption — physical & online.
Recall: Ugandans lost millions in Malaysian 'business' scams (2022, Shs10B+ in north alone @observerug https://t.co/YNoMRfU4cb ). Forex trading scams drained billions earlier (2019 reports). Banking cyber losses hit Shs40B in one year. Total fraud/corruption? Experts say Shs3.6T+
From former Speaker AAA tenure (2022-now), cumulative cyber losses run into hundreds of billions. News refs: Nile Post, Monitor, Police reports. Time for real action on both fronts! #Uganda#StopScams#EndCorruption
As Uganda cracks down on corruption (e.g. probes into past parliamentary excesses), we must also tackle the online scams bleeding our people dry. Billions lost yearly to cyber fraud, mobile money scams & fake investments, Shs72B+ in 2024 alone.
DO YOU KNOW that before CCTVs in Uganda, some supermarkets used to have workers sit on top of high raised seats to watch over the items? Time flies. https://t.co/Zso8TL4AtK
Folks angry about Marie Antionette’s Rolls Royce out of misplaced aggression. They were quiet when the emperor unleashed 100m to each MP last month. That was 39bn. Auntie has learnt extravagance from Plot.1 Entebbe. The Rolls Royce costs less than that place’s 3-days’ expenditure.
Also, now we can rub shoulders with a Rolls Royce on Uganda roads 😅
UPDATE: Malaba, Busia, Lwakhakha, and Suam border points have been closed after striking truck drivers parked their vehicles in protest over the arrest and killing of their colleagues in South Sudan.

Wampewo Avenue road was completed in less than 6 weeks as the contractor rushed to finish in time before the Presidential swearing in ceremony.
So this means the delays of finishing most of other roads is due to laziness or feeling no pressure from those awarding the contracts.
