@MarkMaddenX And if they lost he'd be telling "I told ya so" too. This man's ego does not allow for him to be wrong. He suffers from the same disease our president does (no I'm not liberal). This dude is the king of blustering and his fans(?) eat it up.
@dailey9108@MarkMaddenX He's legitimately regularly wrong . Like very regularly. But those takes get swept under the rug. It's funny how he refers to fans as "marks" when if anything his fans are the marks. This blustering bufoon is like the Andrew Tate of the sports talk world. Except out of shape.
@MarkMaddenX Oh good grief. Yea let's complain about a season where they finish .500 or better after losing 90 games for a decade. You people live to suck the joy out of everything and anything. It was an entertaining team to watch this year, for once. And they actually have pieces in place
@AllDayOutlaw@KodyDuncanPGH Think so too. You can count on 1 hand the # of catchers that hit for power in the MLB. If you have one thats going to hit between 20-30 a year you have a massive advantage. A young controllable catcher w/ elite power for the position for an above average relief arm? I'll take it
@jakepbauer@dailey9108@KodyDuncanPGH Seriously. Some fans just can't comprehend that this kid was a teenager a few months ago. He's only going to get better and once his body fills out, he's going to be a 30 home run a year guy. I'd be thrilled with 20 HRs, 80ish RBIs, and 30 steals next year.
@KodyDuncanPGH Another Cherington W on the trade front. And people panned him for it. Sorry but give me 20+ home runs from the catchers position over an above average relief arm. The dude has nailed just about every trade he's made dating back to the Horowitz for a guy banned from baseball move
@ScriptureFactry@KodyDuncanPGH And guess what? They entered the year with the #1 rated farm system in baseball (Baseball America) and have an excellent core. With a homegrown rotation of power arms who will only get better. This organization is night and day compared to where it was when he inherited it.
@ScriptureFactry@KodyDuncanPGH FINALLY a reasonable take. The subset of this fanbase (the fire Cherington portion) conveniently gloss over the fact that this organization was purposely losing games/tanking for the first 5 years of his tenure. He tore this thing down and rebuilt it. That takes A LONG TIME to do
@MaxRon72@KodyDuncanPGH It's not valid though, Ron. This org was losing games on purpose for the first 5 years of his tenure. Some fans love to overlook that. Dont believe me? Go look at those 2020-2024 lineups & the payroll. He had to rebuild this thing from the ground up. The cupboard was totally bare
@Panther49547104@KodyDuncanPGH@Pirates But you look over the reality/facts because it doesn't fit your "fire Ben Cherington" narrative. That's all well and good, but this organization is in the best place it's been in more than a decade. Part of me thinks you're actually bummed they'll finish with a winning record
@Panther49547104@KodyDuncanPGH@Pirates Oh please. No one was selling in May. The expanded playoff gives GMs hope, which is why I could count on one hand the number of MINOR moves that were made. And when the deadline did roll around GMBC crushed it by getting the most sought after arm on the market. Along w/ others.
@BHoganGolf@mr_garlic_of_pa@KodyDuncanPGH Yea no once can convince me that injuries werent the number 1 reason that we missed the playoffs. Highest scoring team in MLB before then. If you get back even 2 of KG, Cruz, Horowitz, and O'Hearn youre winning 90 games. Cruz and KG come back & we win 9 of 10 series. No accident
@trayfizzy@MyFrontPageGift@KodyDuncanPGH Apparently his point is that he's unimpressed. Apparently the standard is so high in Pittsburg now winning 8 of 9 series comes with a caveat. We're talking about the same Bucs team that hasn't had a winning record in a decade. Some of these fans are nuts, man
@MickeyMck42@KodyDuncanPGH Oh please man. I could count on one hand the number of MINOR moves that were made in June/July. Why? Because with the expanded playoffs no one is selling early. And when the deadline did come around GMBC nailed it & got the most sought after arm on the market. Now the BP is great
@QuestionmarkD@TemuPreller@KodyDuncanPGH It's a reason. These people cannot say with a straight face that if you even put two of those guys back in the lineup you're a 90 win team and playing October baseball. Look no further than when KG and Cruz came back and they immediately won 8 of 9 series.
@QuestionmarkD@TemuPreller@KodyDuncanPGH 4 really. They played long stretches (some all summer) without Cruz, KG, O'Hearn, & Horowitz. These "fans" fail to realize we're not the Dodgers, we don't have all stars being blocked from playing time. When a small market club loses 4 of their 5 best hitters, it's not an excuse
@plainview8585@GMBCSuperfan@KodyDuncanPGH Someone who gets it. Also, There Will Be Blood is arguably the best movie of the 2000's. And a top 10 movie of the last 25 years. So not only do you have rational sports takes, you also have great film taste.
@DrLexusDM@KodyDuncanPGH Well they just gave out a 140 million dollar deal earlier this year so they've already demonstrated that they're willing to. Cruz at 150 million? Yes, I could see it, because they've done it.
@KodyDuncanPGH You're act like he was given MONEY to make deals over those years. The amount spent this year was at the very least comparable to other teams. He drafted Skenes and Griffin. Cherington 110% gets a pass. Kelly and Murphy should not, they pissed the year away.
