I am certain Doctors are purely used in the guise of a “training programme” that involves rotating in hard to fill places/rotas/depts- to do the work no one else can, will or has liability to do. The carrot of training and future good pay used to be enough to quell some. Not now.

In December 2025 a young woman called Joanne Sellars had a tel consultation with a PA, was then seen by a PA apprentice ( supervised by the same PA ) , then seen by a different PA .

She died due to their misdiagnosis

I hope this is an error on the job advert.
PAs are dependent practitioners. They should not be seeing patients independently. They should not be first assist in surgery or performing LPs.

Patients deserve safe quality care. @IMO_IRL please look into this

"very generous" I'll tell you what Tom, do a night shift with a doctor and then tell me being paid a few quid more per hour is very generous.

Also it's not "overtime". It's mandatory work as part of rotas that can be up to 72 hours a week.

Physios and nurses (ACCPs) can now run the intensive care unit with NO ICU consultant on site, relying only on REMOTE supervision.

The public should advocate for their critically unwell relatives in such an unsafe environment.

Why is he still wasting MILLIONS OF POUNDS training PAs at uni plus giving them all a £5000 bursary - £5,000,000 per year group.

Employing them at £47, 800 each (55k in London)

When their work must be repeated by a Dr?

The NHS is deeply unserious. There should be no world where a Neurosurgeon who has completed all their exams is paid less than an art therapist.

One for a GP the other for an ACP

The GP has trained for 10+ yrs to do this job

The ACP is a podiatrist with an add on part time degree

Both doing the same ‘ job’ .

How is this safe @wesstreeting ? Every ARRS ACP should be a GP job
